Friday Featurette #124

The Wife sitting naked on the bed with a tube of flavored lubricantWe don’t have any big plans for St. Valentine’s Day even though it’s on a weekend since below-zero temperatures are forecast for Saturday and we would much rather stay home and be warm. We’re generally don’t make any elaborate plans like some couples do. We don’t “need” a reason to do something and we would rather go out when everything isn’t so crowded.

But, for all of you lovers out there, happy a St. Valentine’s Day!

Wednesday Weirdness #124

I noticed on Tuesday that a headlight on one of our vehicles is burned out; and, or course, freezing temperatures are forecast for this coming weekend. For some strange reason known only to the manufacturer, there isn’t an access door. The recommended way is to remove the front bumper cover! I’ve found it slightly easier to take off the fender liner; but it’s still a GIGANTIC nuisance. Who designs stuff like that?

Monday Monologue #124

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • All four of us went out to dinner this weekend to celebrate The Wife’s birthday. I hope that we’re all still together for my birthday in the fall; but, with two kids staring their adult lives it’s difficult to say where everyone will be then.
  • I’m still getting emails from someone at work about something that I’ve been told (by management) is not a priority. It would almost be funny if it wasn’t so annoying.
  • If it’s halfway as cool-looking in real life like it is in the pictures we’ve seen, I think we’ve picked out or next new vehicle. We’ve already got a gigantic SUV for road trips; so it would be nice to have something fun to drive around town.
  • We’re not big fans of award shows, so yesterday evening we watched one of the Blu-Rays we keep for cold winter evenings when there’s nothing on TV and we don’t feel like going out. I really like my spectacle movies. Much better than “celebrities”.

Friday Featurette #123

The Husband on top of The Wife with her legs togetherWe’re already into February and the winter doldrums have NOT set in. I usually get kinda droopy in around this time; but not this year. It’s a combination of things. The weather hasn’t been as miserable as in years past. The “temporary” dog has been much better behaved recently. And I’ve we’ve done a few minor upgrades inside the house. So, the winter hasn’t dragged on like it usually does. But, we still won’t mind a mid-winter vacation to someplace in the Southern hemisphere.

Traditional Thursday #123

The Wife helping to get The Husband ready for actionThe “temporary” dog has been an unexpected disruption this winter. But, otherwise, we haven’t had as many trials and tribulations. Life is good. It can always be better. (But, it also could be a worse too.)

P.S. It’s kinda hard to see in the photograph; but The Wife is wearing the necklace that I gave her for her birthday.

Happy Birthday to my shorty, my wife.

Wednesday Weirdness #123

A coworker accidentally walked off with my car keys earlier this week which, of course, left me stranded at work. Mix-ups happen; but, when they discovered they their mistake, they really didn’t try to find out who they belonged to. I work in a big building and everyone doesn’t know everyone so I didn’t expect them to personally return them to me. I was searching for hours and hours; before I finally encountered someone who knew of who had them. I’m glad to get them back. But, it was a frustrating and unnecessary experience since we do have an attended lobby.

Tuesday Two For #123

The Husband going down on The WifeI do most of the maintenance around our home which, of course, saves money; but can sometimes be a LOT of work. So, it’s good when I get everything done and can just relax. Especially since The Wife is so good at helping me unwind. May things have changed over the years; but some things are exactly the same. And, as you can imagine, we like it that way.

Monday Monologue #123

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The game on Sunday was great! Way better than last year. There was a lot more to talk about besides the half time show and the commercials.
  • The much anticipated snow storm missed our areal completely. We had only a light dusting overnight. The ominous forecast was basically a false alarm.
  • I had to take the “temporary” dog to the vet today. Nothing serious. But, I seem to be doing a lot more with her than I planned/expected.
  • I replaced every single smoke detector we have with a new one so, hopefully, we won’t have any more false alarms. It was a lot of rewiring; but it’s definitely worth it.
