Wednesday Weirdness #155

When The Wife and I were on our way home from rowing today, we some three people walking in the center lane in dark clothing well after dark on a road without any street lights. I didn’t see them until the last instant when I was almost upon them. They weren’t crossing the street which would have been semi-understandable. They were just were walking in traffic since there aren’t any sidewalks. The Wife thought at first that they were deer. We were totally dumbfounded.

Monday Monologue #155

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • On Saturday we got our hands on the first (but hopefully not the last) item in our quest to “live large” now that our kid expenses are (mostly) finished. It was everything we imagined and more.
  • I changed the filters and added air to the pressure tank to our reverse osmosis unit on Sunday. It’s amazing how much better things seem after a little maintenance.
  • I had an extra dose of difficult people today and its only Monday. I really hope the rest of the week goes better.
  • Sad that it’s almost fall; but glad that football is back. Ready for some live, in-person action.

Wednesday Weirdness #154

I finally deleted the “links” widget from the sidebar since I hadn’t updated them in a long time and was doing such a poor job keeping up with people. I like being busy and having things to do. But, seeing the unvisited, unmaintained links on the sidebar and not finding the time for them was making me feel a bit overwhelmed.

Tuesday Two For #154

The Wife and I are still basking in the afterglow of a glorious weekend. Unfortunately. it’s supposed to turn cooler later this week. So we’re going to enjoy the last bit of summer as much as we can. We’ll have time to practice our photographic skills soon enough. Until then here’s another video.

Monday Monologue #154

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • We’ve identified the first (but hopefully not the last) item in our quest to “live large” now that our kid expenses are (mostly) finished.
  • The replacement watch I just purchased is better than the one that mysteriously came up missing. I’m irritated that it was lost (AKA was stolen). But, the new one is a better size and style for me anyway.
  • We got in the pool three consecutive days this weekend and really didn’t need the heater. The water was 85-degrees all three days.
  • Now that I’ve used it for a while Windows 10 just seems like regular Windows. And, Windows 7 which I use at work seems old and outdated.
