Friday Featurette #159

The Wife sitting naked on the bed waiting for The HusbandIs supposed to be cold this weekend so we won’t be rowing. I won’t be cutting the grass; but, unfortunately I have some chores to do outside. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the warmth when I finally come inside. And The Wife is always willing to help me warm up.

Stay warm and have a great weekend.

Wednesday Weirdness #159

One of the guys at the gym where I box told me that I “need to eat some cheeseburgers” when I said how much I weighed when we were trying to set some sparring matchups. I wanted to reply (but didn’t) that they needed to STOP eating so many cheeseburgers. The conversation was at a gym. You would think people who work out regularly would know what a healthy weigh is. Instead, NOT being overweight was a joke.

Monday Monologue #159

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • We did really well in our race this weekend even though I was sick. We absolutely love our new boat. Really looking forward to our next race.
  • Glad to be taking a few long weekends this month. Fourth of July vacation seems like a long time ago.
  • I can’t believe I’m already zooming up to my birthday. It’s doesn’t seem like it’s been a year since the last one. Time really flies.
  • Great win by or favorite NFL team on Sunday. Starting to think that this might be “the year”.

Friday Featurette #158

The Husband and The Wife together on a n early fall eveningWe’ve got another busy weekend ahead. It seems like that happens a lot. Sometimes, it can be a bit too much; but, we wouldn’t; have it any other way. There’s plenty of time for lazy days during the long, cold winter. Monday is the last “warm” day in the forecast. It may be the last warm day of the year. So we’re going to get out and enjoy the sunshine while we can. Have a great weekend.

Wednesday Weirdness #158

I recently encountered a situation where I couldn’t get the Blu-Ray player in our living room to turn off. In fact, it wouldn’t respond to any commands. It wasn’t until I switched the televesion inputs that I realized that a new firmware update was available and the dialog had to be conformed or cancelled. Who does things like that? Why do they think that a player is always going to be connected to a display? Especially a “smart” device that automagically turns itself on when it’s the selected input and off when it’s not the selected input.

Monday Monologue #158

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I think I fixed the issue with comment notifications. So, we should be timelier with our replies. I hate it when software doesn’t work correctly, even though it was an unusual condition which caused the issue.
  • I spent part of our “lazy” Sunday doing yard work. Not really enough light in the evening to get things done during the week. But Sunday was still very relaxing.
  • Amazingly, our favorite college and pro football teams are both still undefeated. So we’ve still have high hopes for the season.
  • Less than two weeks until we close the pool for the season. We probably will not get into it again; but it’s still slightly depressing.
