Tuesday Two For #207

This week is a busy week for us. It can be kinda stressful at times; but, we wouldn’t have it any other way. There will be lots of slow days where we wish there was more to do during the long cold winter. And we’re never too busy for our photo sessions. So here is a short video preview of things to come. More later.

Monday Monologue #207

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Glad that we have a DVR so that we can do our outside activities and watch TV after the sun goes down. The MNF games weren’t very entertaining; but otherwise, there were some great pro football games this weekend.
  • There was a huge backup on the highway coming home today. It took twice as long to get home; but, fortunately, I don’t have a long drive. It would have been really frustrating sitting in the car watching the sun go down when I could have been outside.
  • We rowed “early” (AKA before sunset) today since it’s starting to get cool once the sun goes down. Days are still warm and sunny; but there isn’t too much of summer left.
  • We really enjoy our fall boat races; but, they do kinda signify the end of the season. Unlike the spring races that represent the start of the season and a summer of enjoying the great outdoors.

Friday Featurette #206

The Wife naked on the bed after a "photo" sessionEven though it was a short week, it seemed like Friday would never arrive. Like everyone, weekends are too short and work weeks are too long. The days when companies weren’t so “efficient” (AKA understaffed) at work are never coming back. Which, unfortunately, means that the days that we have “extra” work waiting for us whenever we return after a holiday or vacation are here to stay. But; the weekend is finally here with all the things that are good about sunny and warm September weekend. Good luck to your favorite college or professional football team. See you next week.

Wednesday Weirdness #206

When I stopped off at the store today to buy a few items the clerk’s clash drawer was out of change in small denominations so she was shortchanging everyone. Apparently it was just too much trouble to stop and replenish. It’s not the loss of a few coins that was annoying. It’s the idea that she felt comfortable keeping everyone’s money. I almost never shop at this particular place and it will be a long, long time before I do so again.

Monday Monologue #206

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Except for being the symbolic end of summer, The Wife and I really enjoyed our extended Labor Day holiday weekend. It was long and relaxing. I wish we had more weekends like this one.
  • We cleaned the hard water stains off of our boat on Saturday. We don’t think about it since its (mostly) clear; but, it’s amazing how dirty water is. This is the second time we’ve done it this summer.
  • When the sun is out, it doesn’t seem like fall; but, college football was back this weekend and pro football will be back next weekend. We love fall sports; even though we prefer summer weather.
  • We can tell that summer is winding down now that the house is cooling down at night rather than warming up when the smart thermostat allows the temperature out of the comfort zone when we are sleeping.
