We’re slowly adjusting to the time change; but, the lack of light when we get off from work makes it harder. It just seems later (and mildly depressing) when it’s too dark to do much of anything outside in the … Continue reading
I saw a dump truck almost run into the back of a semi at full speed on the highway on the way to work. The dump truck driver slammed on the brakes and swerved onto the exit ramp at the last instant. I had already merged to get off; but fortunately, I was far enough back to avoid getting run over. I had to brake hard so, I don’t think he saw me and the other vehicles in the exit lane. Or, possibly, he just decided to run us all over since the outcome would be better for him. Then, after almost causing a chain reaction accident, he just got back into the left lane and went on!
I just upgraded all of our PCs to the latest version of Windows. Our primary computer took a long time; but everything seems to be working. (Except for one unusual error message.) Of course, I see that an update to … Continue reading
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
- Happy to see the start of college basketball this week. Especially since neither my favorite college or professional football team is having a good season this year.
- Even though I didn’t feel like it, I cut the front and side yards on Saturday. I think I’ll leave the back yard until next spring. Of course, my obsessive next-door neighbor had to cut his grass again on Sunday even though it didn’t need it.
- The wife did our first indoor workout of the winter on Saturday. It’s good to keep in shape. But being on a machine is not nearly as much fun as being outside running or rowing.
- It’s been a week and we’re still adjusting to the time change. That’s not unusual for us; but, it’s still frustrating.
Sunday wasn’t bad; mostly because The Wife and I were at the end of a short vacation. But I have been struggling all week with the time change. It’s easy to set the clock in an electronic device. Unfortunately for us, our internal clocks aren’t as easy to change. Hopefully we’ll be better adjusted next week. Until then, have a great weekend.
It’s good to be back to our normal schedule. Hopefully we won’t have any more problems. We always think of all of our equipment as newer. However, everything is reaching the point where replacement is starting to be something for … Continue reading
I may be finished mowing the grass for the year even though it could use one more cutting. My next-door neighbor may not be happy; but, it’s been far too cold and wet to cut the grass. And, with the time change, there’s not enough daylight in the evening. So, it’s a weekend task if the weather cooperates. I haven’t switched over to snow-blowing mode; which will eliminate any possibility of mowing; but I likely will over Thanksgiving. I’m sure I will get a few comments.
Update: Our heat is “working” which means that the house is normal winter temperature but nothing was really fixed. Every suspect part tested OK when the service man was here so there was nothing to repair or replace. Apparently, the … Continue reading
