Wednesday Weirdness #285

The March Energy Report from our smart thermostat says that “In March, your heating ran 31% more than last year”. Last March was unusually warm. And this March was unusually cold. So, obviously, we expected a big difference. But, actually seeing the report was still somewhat depressing. The cold, wet, dreary winter weather seems never ending.

Tuesday Two For #285

The Wife getting The Husband ready for actionThe Wife is still slightly sick (as am I) but every day we get better. Having a spring cold isn’t any fun. Especially with the winter weather we have been having. It certainly doesn’t seem like the second week of April temperature-wise. We’re hopeful that spring weather will arrive soon. Our normal spring/summer schedule seems almost like a dream.

Monday Monologue #285

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • For the second Monday in a row, we woke up to snow on the ground. It all melted by the afternoon. But; it was still not the preferred way to start the week.
  • I did not cut the grass today like several other people in our neighborhood. Mowing the lawn on the same day it snowed just seems slightly odd.
  • We watched a spectacle type movie this weekend. That’s our preferred genre to buy on Blu-Rays. The movie was what you would expect. But the special effects were great.
  • I am getting really tired of getting muddy shoes every time I walk around outside. It’s rained so much this spring that the ground is still oozes mud even when it hasn’t rained or snowed in a few days.

Friday Featurette #284

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionI got my broken tooth fixed. It didn’t take too long once I actually got in to see the dentist since they have one of those super high-tech machines that mils a replacement out of a ceramic blank right there in the office. I still had to have the rest of the broken surface drilled out. But, the new one was made from a digital image from a camera-like 3D sensor. Much better than the traditional process. So, even though I am still slightly sick, I am feeling much better than everything is repaired. Have a great weekend.

Wednesday Weirdness #284

I was surprised when I was going home from work today how many cars were driving through high water. Most made it through without any difficulties. But, while I was watching, two vehicles drowned their engines. It did take a few minutes to go around. But, except for people with large trucks with high ground clearance, the risk was not worth it. I’m sure the drivers of the two disabled vehicles are regretting their decision.

Monday Monologue #284

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • We had a great weekend. I was even good to see the dogs. Primarily because they always accompany the daughter. And we don’t see her nearly as much as we would like since she moved away.
  • I somehow misplaced a five-dollar bill. Obviously, it’s not the end of the world. But, regardless of the amount, it’s the type of thing that annoys me. I’m hoping it will turn up soon. Otherwise, I’ll be slightly aggravated every time I think about it.
  • We rowed today even though it was cold. Mostly because it’s the only day that we we’ll be able to for a while. The weather in April looks like it may be just as unfriendly to rowing as the weather in March. And sunshine has been almost non-existent this spring.
  • I broke a tooth. Of course, it was late in the day after the dentists; office had closed. So, I don’t even know when I’ll be able to have it take care of.
