Traditional Thursday #290

The Wife standing naked in front of the mirror drying her hairWe did not have a lot photographs since the camera stopped taking pictures. Fortunately, there were a few that we liked so, we can post a mix of new photos and videos rather than reaching into the way-back machine.

Wednesday Weirdness #290

The Wife hit a chuck hole on the highway that totally destroyed her tire. Thankfully, the wheel appears to be OK. Still, it’s an expensive repair since a new tire for her vehicle is not cheap. One of the hazards of living in an area where they salt the roads in the winter and are slow to patch the damage in the spring.

Monday Monologue #290

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • We had a good race this weekend with our new boats. Even though we already had one we row together, we did not realize how much of a difference having a good new boat would make in the individual events.
  • We had a great anniversary celebration on Sunday. It’s hard to believe that its been thirty years. Where did the time go?
  • I did cut the grass this weekend despite being busy racing and celebrating our anniversary. Having a lawn mower that can power through wet grass without bogging down is very handy when we have things to do.
  • I updated the version of WordPress which powers this site yet again. The authors keep adding to it. But, despite the frequent updates, whatever is broken seems to stay that way.

Friday Featurette #289

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionHere is another candid photograph of the wife relaxing on the bed. We have had a lot of sun in recent weeks so she has much more of a tan than in similar pictures from earlier in the year. May had been a good month to get out an enjoy the sunshine. We will be doing even more of that in the future. Like most spring days, there is a chance of thunderstorms this weekend. But; there will be some sun too. Have a great weekend.

Traditional Thursday #289

The Wife fixing the pillows on the bedHere is a candid photograph of The Wife making up the new bed after our photo session was over. We’re not posting it for any particular reason. It just seemed like a fun picture. Life is good now that the days aren’t so cold, wet and dreary. We really enjoy the sunshine. Even when we aren’t outside doing things. The days are long, the sun is warm. And summer is finally here.

Wednesday Weirdness #289

I accidentally made an error in the new password I set this week during one of the regularly forced password changes at work. And since we can only change our password once a week, I can’t correct it. So, I’m stuck trying to remember to type the wrong password with a mnemonic error in it. All the arcane password rules that don’t really increase security are frustrating. Especially since they aren’t even following the latest guidance.

Monday Monologue #289

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The latest Windows Update installed a new major version of Windows 10 on our home computers. Now, they can’t see each other. It works great otherwise and has some interesting new features, so, I won’t be rolling back. But, that’s an annoying problem.
  • The Girl and her family of dogs was home for the weekend. We had a great Mother’s Day. Although, strangely, one of her dogs can’t swim and needed to be carefully watched whenever they were outside near the pool.
  • One of the “waterproof” electronic items that I use for rowing somehow got water inside the screen on Saturday. So now I have to pay to ship it it back to the manufacturer and pay for repair. I’m definitely not happy.
  • My next-door neighbor did NOT cut his grass this weekend which is very unusual. Especially since I cut mine. I wonder if he’s started to notice the damage all the frequent mowing is causing.

Friday Featurette #288

We had another good day on and off the river today. After a cold, wet April, it has been nice to finally have some sun. Unlike other days, we usually have the river to ourselves on Friday since the other rowers have something to do. It’s a great way to relax and get ready for the weekend. Like always, I’ve got to cut the grass; but, otherwise, am looing forward to a relaxing two days. Have a great Mother’s Day weekend.
