Some non-work-related things happened in real life that made today not the best of days. Nothing “important” in the big picture. Bit it still made for a somber day. So, today we’re just posting a quick video. The original is better than the transcoded copy but I didn’t feel like editing it or really doing much of anything. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
I’m not a huge college basketball fan; but I due enjoy March Madness. Primarily because most of the “upsets” aren’t really upsets. The team that plays harder and better than their opponent usually wins. I don’t get caught up in records or seedings. You have to win six games in a row to win the championship. And all 6 games are played on the court and not in a computer or the mind of a talking head somewhere. It’s not what other people think. It’s what happens when it’s time to get to work. Ultimately, sport is a microcosm of life. Anyway, if you are not a fan, (or even if you are) here is a longer clip of the movie that we made. Have a great weekend.
I have to work on fixing yet another crisis again this weekend. Recently, it seems like crisis mode is the norm mode of operation. Once again, it’s cold and dreary outside so its tolerable. But, it still not fun. Where have all the normal weekends gone? I will actually be glad to get outside and roll the lumps out of my lawn even if pushing a lawn roller isn’t one of my favorite chores. Perhaps next weekend. Anyway, have a great weekend.
I had to work late today and will probably be working both days this weekend. And this comes on the day after being up until 3AM. I know that days like this are typical of my profession. But, that doesn’t magically make me less sleepy. Or give me extra days off when I want them. The only “good” thing it’s that it supposed to be cold. So, even if I wasn’t so busy, I wouldn’t be able to do much outside anyways. Have a great weekend.
We got the post card from the company that services our pool scheduling the opening for the year. It’s still a couple of months away; but, now that we have a definite date, spring doesn’t seem so far away. If … Continue reading
Unsurprisingly, the taste of spring that we had on Tuesday is over. It’s cold and rainy again. An improvement over cold and snowy; but not by much. Its good for the grass; but, we are longing for some extended sunshine.
I’ve been watching the Olympics whenever I have the opportunity to go dark and not find out the results. Live scores and standings are everywhere, from crawlers on the bottom of TV screens to posts and tweets online. it’s difficult to not find out who one. Especially with “live” television not quite being live.
One of the things that good about working downtown and walking everywhere rather than driving is that I’m going noticeably longer between fill ups. I did not realize how much gas a few lunchtime errands were using each week. I still walk when it’s cold or rainy and not much fun to be a pedestrian But, I am really looking toward to spring. Winter gas mileage probably isn’t a major concern when you drive a big SUV. But, even though it’s not very much, I still have a list of items to purchase as the “efficiency savings”. accrues
We enjoyed Sunday’s game but are sad to see the pro football season come to an end. The NBA team we cheer for is in a deep funk. Our favorite college hoops team is having a down year. And we … Continue reading
January is over and I am (mostly) happy to see it in the rearview mirror. It had more than its share of bitter cold winter periods. And we had car problems with multiple vehicles. Anything is possible; but, February is … Continue reading
When I was creating the photos for this post I saw that I had accidentally used the wrong name for the two of the media files I used last week. Amazingly, even though its 2018, renaming a file in the … Continue reading
