We’re supposed to have our first significant snow fall of the winter this weekend and we are not ready for it. It was just last week that we were running in the park in short sleeves (or at least I was). I’ve made sure our cars are ready for the winter and converted our door power equipment to snow removal mode. But, mentally, I’m not ready for snow. ‘Cause if its snowing in December, it will probably snow a lot before the winter is over. Obviously, we’ll service. But, we still won’t like it. Anyway, have a great weekend.
Here is more of this week’s movie that we are experimenting with. Perhaps we will use a different tool with the part we post next. I upgraded to the latest version of Corel’s VisualStudio recently and we haven’t tried it yet.
P.S.: I installed yet another update to WordPress, our blogging software today. Hopefully it didn’t break anything that wasn’t already broken.
Since we’re having problems making movies with sound, we though that it might be fun to play around with some of the video effects that don’t work well with audio. So, this week, we’re speeding up the videos. Not as something to do all of the time. Just something different. Please let us know what you think.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our visitors! We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
I do not think that I will be catching up on yardwork this weekend. The weather forecast calls for heavy rains on Saturday followed by near- freezing to below-freezing temperatures on Sunday. I’d like to say that we’ll be inside by the fireplace most of both days. Unfortunately, we’ve got outside chores to do that will keep us busy for many, many hours. And, unlike The Wife, I am not on vacation all next week. I mostly like to use my vacation when the weather is nice. But, that doesn’t mean that I’m not slightly jealous of The Wife who gets more vacation than I do. Stay warm, stay dry and have a great weekend.
We’re slowly adjusting to the time change; but, the lack of light when we get off from work makes it harder. It just seems later (and mildly depressing) when it’s too dark to do much of anything outside in the … Continue reading
It’s good to be back to our normal schedule. Hopefully we won’t have any more problems. We always think of all of our equipment as newer. However, everything is reaching the point where replacement is starting to be something for … Continue reading
Update: Our heat is “working” which means that the house is normal winter temperature but nothing was really fixed. Every suspect part tested OK when the service man was here so there was nothing to repair or replace. Apparently, the … Continue reading
Sadly, winter is finally here. Sleet and snow are forecast for tomorrow with a chance of a cold rain on Sunday. I’ll be outside some; but, I won’t be having as much fun as I would if it was warmer. Typical late October weather. We were just hoping for another week (or too) of unseasonably warm temperatures. I think we’ll be inside drinking hot apple cider by the fire place a lot in the near future. Stay warm.
I turned on the fireplace for the first time of the season yesterday. It was nice to have a warm, cheery fire going. The first time we use is also a bit depressing, however. It’s not “cold” yet. But, it’s a lot colder than it has been. We know that summer is gone and won’t be back until next year. We are still hoping for a warm fall, which, so far, does not appear to be likely. And, sadly, it’s not much fun when it’s too cold to go out and play.
