Friday Featurette #48

The Wife sitting naked on the bed waiting for The HusbandThis picture is kinda similar to one we posted earlier in the week. But, we couldn’t think of a better way to inaugurate the long weekend. The Labor Day holiday is very appropriate considering some of the difficulties I’ve had recently at work.

Be safe and enjoy the holiday!

Wednesday Weirdness #48

Over the weekend, I was logged in to one of my online accounts and noticed that one of the balances was wrong. So, I called customer service. The rep was very helpful and explained that only recent purchases and credits were included and the account status shown in the last email I received from them would eventually be incorporated. Who builds systems like that? I wonder how many calls they receive because the totals don’t match until after a periodic reconciliation process. Even in a world of nonsensical things, some things still defy explanation.

Tuesday Two For #48

The Wife on the bed waiting for The Husband with a tube of flavored lubricantAs has been discussed in earlier posts, I’ve been having some challenging days at work. The Wife always cheers me up, especially when she’s on the bed with a tube of flavored lubricant. It’s not easy to leave work at work. But having someone like her around really helps. Hopefully everything will be resolved one way or another sooner rather than later.

Monday Monologue #48

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The Girl had a GREAT goal in the scrimmage they played over the weekend. It’s hard to believe this is her last year of organized soccer. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that the small ball they used with came to her knees. Now, she score goals from a farther distance than the length of the whole field she played on as a pee wee.
  • It’s supposed to be HOT every day this week. So, if it doesn’t rain, it will be good weather to get in the pool. That’s OK with The Wife and I since we haven’t have many sunny hot days for relaxing in the pool and summer is almost over for us.
  • We are definitely having some “Office Space” moments at work. It would be funny if the situation wasn’t so serious. So, it’s only mildly amusing.
  • We finally got caught up on blogging last week. It was a good thing to do because it was starting to seem like a chore since it had been so long. And it’s supposed to be fun so that’s not a good thing. Now it’s back to the fun category again.

Friday Featurette #47

The Wife putting in her diaphragmFor a variety of reasons, this has been LONG week for The Wife and me. We’ve got things to do on Saturday; but, hopefully, there will still be time for the activities that occur after the event featured in this photograph. August has been unseasonably cool, so I will still need to cut the grass and work in the yard this weekend. But; we can still sleep in!

Have a great weekend. We’ll see you on the other side.

Wednesday Weirdness #47

Our daughter has left for school; but we are NOT empty nesters since our son is staying at home while he looks for a job after graduating this spring. It’s kinda weird him being around while she’s away since he’s older and it was always the other way around. After being away for so long for his studies, we’re glad that he’s home; but it’s been an adjustment getting used to someone else being around the house at this time of year.

Monday Monologue #47

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The last time they mowed, our new next door neighbors cut the grass in the front yard almost eight feet over the property line. It’s not a big deal to us; but we think it’s amusing since they take such care to respect the frontage “rights” of adjacent houses; but their depth perception is so poor that they can’t tell they are not in line with the fence in our back yard.
  • This is one of those strange weeks where we are expecting a package almost every day of things that we’ve purchased online; mostly stuff we can’t buy in local stores. Sometimes, we wonder why local stores abdicate so much business. After a while, they become something of an afterthought.
  • We haven’t received any spam in weeks. Our latest anti-spam software is doing a good job. We think it amusing to occasionally read them, so we save all of the blocked messages. Some are pretty clever; other others make us wonder who would do anything except hit the delete button.
  • I forgot to plug my telephone in the charger last night. With my previous smart phone, that would have been a disaster; and it would have been completely dead when I woke up; but it’s no problem with this one gong two or more days on a single charge. It’s amazing how quickly technology improves.
