Friday Featurette #46

It’s been a very busy summer (which is a good thing); but, we haven’t published a movie in ages. So, here is a video we made in our last photo session. It’s BJ scene filmed from a first person perspective. The lighting is not the best; but we think that suits this type of video. Enjoy.

P.S. This video does include audio.

Traditional Thursday #46

A close-up of the Wife going down on The HusbandWe mentioned on Tuesday that the battery was dying on our camera and we didn’t; think it would last if we used the flash. So it was a good time to be creative (at least for us) and task some interesting low light photographs. Here is another one of our favorites. We liked the way it turned out, especially considering that it wasn’t something that initially we planned on doing. Of course the subject is something that we’re good at and were NOT improvising.

Wednesday Weirdness #46

I almost got hit by car a turning left on red on Tuesday while I was trying to get out of the way of another car traveling in another direction turning left on red. I had the right of way and was walking with the signal; but, apparently, neither vehicle felt like waiting though their respective traffic signal. I don’t just step out in front of moving vehicles; but it’s had to stay out of the way of cars that run red lights and speed around corners of nearby streets.

Tuesday Two For #46

The Wife sitting naked on the floor drying her hairThe battery on our compact camera is dying (again). It’s OK if we charge it just before use. But the battery gets almost completely drained just if the camera sits unused for a week or so. We don’t use it much. (Except as a secondary bedcam.) So we’re not sure if its work getting another replacement battery. Especially since the last one didn’t last very long. Of course, it is kinda a nuisance when is the only camera handy like in our most recent photo session. We didn’t use the flash so it didn’t shut off while we were using it. We’re only posting one photograph today since we didn’t take a lot of photos. But its a really cute one of The Wife.

Monday Monologue #46

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Our weekend was good. The only “bad” thing is that it kinda represents the end of the summer for us. We’ve really come to appreciate the days we thought would last forever that didn’t.
  • We haven’t gone for our regular Sunday afternoon run in the park in months. It’s been replaced, at least while the weather is good, by a Sunday afternoon row on the river. It’s nice not having to worry about encountering unleashed dogs. And it is still great exercise.
  • We’ve had some strange weather this summer. It hasn’t been particularly cool; but there haven’t’ been a lot of good pool days. We were hoping to get in today for what may have been the last time for a while; but, the late afternoon ended up being cloudy and windy.
  • There haven’t been any more cars belonging to people vising our neighbor blocking our mailbox. Some people really don’t think; but are nice when you point something out to them.

Friday Featurette #45

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment together on a summer eveningIt has been an interesting week. We are so ready for the weekend. It’s probably the last one with everyone together for a while. I’ve got to cut the grass and do some other things around the house; but, otherwise, we don’t have anything to do. I’m really looking forward to spending some time in the pool. We haven’t been able to use it very much at all this year.

Wednesday Weirdness #45

On Monday, one of the neighbors who is having out of town visitors had their guests move their car out of their driveway and park on the street so they could get up and drive to work the next day without disturbing anyone. So, they parked directly in front of OUR mailbox. WTF. They are so concerned about blocking THEIR mailbox that they put their garbage cans 20 feet away from their mailbox on trash day which is why their guests couldn’t park in front of their house. They could easily move their trash receptacles closer to their driveway and still leave plenty of room for the mail truck and a vehicle to park nearby and not block anyone’s mail delivery. Needless to say, I left them a note explaining the situation.

Monday Monologue #45

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • It seemed like I was out there forever; but I was really “only” working in the yard for about four hours on Saturday. We didn’t have a typical July weather-wise and it doesn’t look like we’re going to have haven’t had a typical August. A LOT of rain and hardly any sun. Good for the yard; but we haven’t spent much time in the pool.
  • Now that we’ve been using it for a month or so our new spam filter has “learned” what type of spam we receive even less is getting through than when we first installed and configured it. It works really well; but, I wish we still lived in a time when we didn’t need such things.
  • It’s not something I’ve been consciously trying to do; but lost a bit weight this summer because of the “extra” workouts I’ve been doing. I weighed 154 when I stepped on the scale this past weekend. That’s about 5 lbs. less than normal. And the wife and I really enjoy rowing. We’re pretty good for novices.
  • The wife and I think it’s strange that people like my parents “forget” about the internet. They use telephones or postal mail when doing something online would be much quicker and efficient. I don’t expect for them to start tweeting; but it would be nice if I didn’t need to call and alert them whenever I send an email.
