A former coworker who was let go in a recent “right-sizing” is helping out the person who is taking over for him. Amazingly, he will be on the phone for long periods of time essentially training someone else. And he is not a just answering quick question here and there; but providing a detailed and methodical how-to for the tasks he was responsible for. I know he’s friends with the person still at the company that he is helping out; but they are getting paid and he isn’t. I think most people would be too busy looking for a new job or experiencing “memory loss”.
