Friday Featurette #68

The Wife lying naked on the bedIt’s snowing again. I know that it hasn’t actually been that way; but, it seems like every weekend begins with a snowstorm. It was almost 50 earlier in the week. Now its 10-degrees (and falling) with blowing snow. It’s only mid-January and we are so ready for snow to be a thing of the past. At least it’s warm inside. And. The Wife hanging out around the house always warms me up.

Wednesday Weirdness #68

Earlier this week, a guy at work got annoyed because I was talking too much time in the locker room. Our changing area is small and he likes to spread out so he decided to wait until I was finished. The details aren’t important; but, he ended up waiting for longer than he wanted too. There room for several people, so he didn’t really need to wait. I guess he just didn’t want to have to share. He didn’t say anything to me; but he kept checking to see if I was finished. Of course, this is the same person that will sit in front of other people’s lockers blocking their way while he checks messages on his phone. I wasn’t trying to deliberately be in his way; but I’m secretly glad he was aggravated.

Monday Monologue #68

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • After what seemed like ages but was really only a few weeks, The Wife and I were finally able to work out outside. I don’t mind running on the treadmill; but it can get very tedious if I can’t do anything at all outside because of winter weather.
  • I changed the “Archives” section of the side bar into a collapsible list by year. I didn’t realize it until I saw how long the old list had gotten and decided to change it; but we are already into our 17th month.
  • It’s almost 60-degrees warmer than it was a week ago. Everything has melted except for the frozen slush in the middle of the swimming pool cover. We hope that the worst is behind us; but, realize that is probably not the case since it’s only January. At least the days are getting longer.
  • We had another last first today. It’s exciting and depressing at the same time. Exciting because it’s been a long time coming. Depressing because we’re not sure what other first firsts the future holds.

Friday Featurette #67

The Wife sitting on the bed waiting for The HusbandToday was a LONG day. I know I can’t always leave work at the “normal” time. But I especially don’t like staying late on Friday. I prefer to get everything completed and have my weekend free. Of course my first choice is to not be in a situation where I have to work really, really late and/or over the weekend. I know that it comes with being a professional. But a consistent, regular schedule would be great. Anyway, here is a good photograph of The Wife to help get in the mood for the weekend. Enjoy.

Wednesday Weirdness #67

It was a long planned expenditure; but, I had the misfortune of needing to buy tires this week during this latest bout of cold, snowy weather. Owing a car is expensive; especially when it’s principally being driven by less than observant drivers (AKA kids). Maintenance that really shouldn’t be postponed seem to fall out of the sky.

Tuesday Two For #67

The Husband going down on The WifeToday is the coldest day of the year. (I read somewhere that it’s actually warmer in Antarctica!) It was so cold that I drove and picked up our pizza rather than have it delivered so we didn’t get a blast of artic air blowing through the house when we opened the front door. Definitely a day to be inside.

Monday Monologue #67

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • After being on vacation for the past few weeks, I am having a difficult time getting back into things at work. Partly due to the post-holiday blues. But mostly because of the weather. It is COLD outside.
  • We live in the northern part of the country so we expect cold days during the winter; but the weather forecast is ridiculous. I can’t believe that people live in places where temperatures like these are “normal”.
  • I ended the break weighing just under 160 lbs. That’s really good for someone who likes to eat as much as I do. Slightly heavier than during the summer when we get more exercise; but, still a “good” weight for me.
  • One of my resolutions for this year is to try and not feel so stressed. Right now, for a number of reasons, I’m not doing a good job. Hopefully; things will change soon.
