Monday Monologue #105

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • This past weekend was great! It hasn’t rained much recently; so I didn’t need to cut the grass. Plus, we had good weather to go rowing in. And we were able to get in the pool for probably the last time of the season.
  • I was planning on doing it earlier this year; but I finally got rid of the last two remaining computers we had that were still running Windows XP. They were too underpowered to run anything newer and I couldn’t really think of anything useful to do with them. So they were basically just gathering dust in the basement even though they were still turned on.
  • The “temporary” dog had an accident on the carpet again. I keep telling myself it’s only for a short while longer. It’s been over two months so the dog should be used to this place by now. Or it should at least be messing up someone else’s carpet.
  • I didn’t think about it until today; but last week was the second anniversary of this blog. Two years isn’t that long in real life; but it’s an eternity on the internet. We should find a way to celebrate.

Friday Featurette #104

We’re still working on our low light movie photography. We know we don’t have it right; but we’re attempting to create a voyeuristic effect. Today’s featurette is a candid of The Wife drying her hair after getting out of the shower. We’ll leave the lights on for our “main” videos until we get things figured out. We hope that you don’t mind our experiments. Have a Great weekend!

Traditional Thursday #104

This summer has been more stressful than usual so The Wife and I really enjoy quiet, uncomplicated evenings. We haven’t be able to enjoy the pool as much as we would like; but, we’ve been able to row a lot to make up for it. We don’t know how long it will last; but, after a chilly start to the week the weather has been great. We know the “long hard winter is around the corner so we’re going to enjoy summer and everything it has to offer while we can.

Wednesday Weirdness #104

Someone at work was complaining that I wasn’t doing things as efficiently as a co-worker who was recently “downsized”. I generally ignore such complaints, except for the amusement value. Of course I’m not as quick doing the new tasks when I still have my old work to do too. I was polite and professional to them; but, I was thinking that, maybe, they should go complain to management about it and get themselves downsized too.

Tuesday Two For #104

We’ve made a lot of moves this month so we decided to continue the trend again this week. I’ve got the all of the appropriate configuration options for conversion from .AVI to .MP4 figured out so the entire process is much quicker than it used to be when we didn’t post as many movies. The embedded video player that comes with WordPress makes thinks easier too. We hope you enjoy this week’s show.

Monday Monologue #104

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Today was the last day of summer, and, unfortunately, it felt like it outside. It was chilly before sunrise and after sunset. I don’t think we’ll be attending any more football games in without coats.
  • The “temporary” dog tried to dig a hole in the carpet. Luckily, I heard the noise and stopped it before there was too much damage. This animal is really, really annoying.
  • The stupid summer cold I caught a few weeks ago continues to linger on. I feel better and better each day; but I’m still not quite fully recovered.
  • Our computer was running hot so I had to take it apart and clean the dust out. It wasn’t as bad as when it was overheating last year; but I was still amazed how much dust had collected and how much hotter it made things.

Friday Featurette #103

The Wife drying her hair in front of the mirrorFor a variety of reasons, it’s been a long week at work so I am VERY glad for the weekend. I work to live, as opposed to live to work; but, some weeks are still frustrating and stressful. I’m very glad that I’ve usually got a very pleasant homecoming. The Wife is very good a picking me up! We’ve got our regular household chores; but, otherwise, have nothing planned. And that’s just the way we like it.

Have a great weekend!

Wednesday Weirdness #103

I recently received a notice from our utility company that our service agreement will soon be expiring and that they have “selected a renewal option that seems appropriate for me” that will automatically go into effect unless I contact them. But, the option they choose is 30% more expensive than what I currently have! Obviously, their definition of appropriate is very different than mine. Apparently, appropriate is equivalent to makes the most money for them. Needless to say, I’ll be selecting a different supplier before their “renewal” deadline.
