Friday Featurette #111

The Wife hanging out naked on the bed waiting for The HusbandThe Wife hanging out naked on the bed waiting for The HusbandGlad for weekend and the end of a long week. I had “help” that I didn’t ask for on a project at work. And then, when there were problems, it was somehow my fault. I have worked in a CYA corporate environment for a long time, so I’m used to people who blame everyone else, so it didn’t really bother me. But I’m definitely ready for some time away. The only plans I have for the weekend are to O.D. on college and NFL football. Hopefully, my favorite teams can pull out victories.

Wednesday Weirdness #111

I’ve been trying to find a travel mug to replace the one with a crack in the lid that I previously used. Amazingly, the “premium” ones are either not dishwasher safe and/or not microwave safe. I’m certain I’m not the only one who heats up their coffee in the microwave after they get to work. And, we’ve already got enough things that need to be hand washed with the water bottles we use at workouts. If two different versions (one with a flip top and one without) weren’t sold as the same thing, I’d get the same inexpensive one I have now. I wonder why the manufacturer considers them to be the same version when the lid design is different.

Monday Monologue #111

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I’m looking for a new keyboard; but the only one I’ve found that I like costs $170! That’s more than three time what I want to spend. I wonder who they sell something that expensive too. I know I definitely plan to keep looking.
  • I’ve been using the Jacuzzi tub a lot recently. We had gotten out of the habit of using it since we didn’t have enough hot water to fill it after taking showers; but, our new water heated with its ample supply of HOT water has fixed the situation. Now we’re planning to use it more often.
  • The Wife was a bit under the weather today so I was bacheloring it. I’m fully self-sufficient. But, her not being around most of the day was still weird. For instance, we’ve always tried to eat together as a family so it’s very unusual for me to be eating dinner without her.
  • And finally for all the Buckeye fans, “O-H”. Saturday was a HUGE win.

Friday Featurette #110

The Wife sitting naked on the bed waiting for The HusbandI had a “bad day” on Thursday and didn’t feel much like doing anything so this post is later than normal. I don’t have the best of luck generally, so I wasn’t surprised; but, I that knowledge didn’t make me feel any lest droopy. I did do some “retail therapy” and purchased some new photo and video editing software. It probably won’t make much if any difference from a visitor’s perspective. But, I’m hoping it will make preparing picture and movies easier. I haven’t have really had the opportunity to try it out; but, I’ll know soon enough.

Here is a picture of The Wife to end the week. I’m definitely very happy to see it end. Hopefully I’ll be back in the grove next week.

Wednesday Weirdness #110

When I took our SUV up to the car wash to wash off the grime from our road trip this weekend, the machine gave me ALL my change in dollar coins which can be hard to spend. And what makes the experience even more irritating is the fact that the machines at car wash doesn’t accept coins from customers. Who sets up their equipment to make change that you can’t use to make another purchase from the same machines that gave it out. Very annoying.

Monday Monologue #110

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The printer on our desktop died on Sunday night and had to be replaced. That’s the second computer component to fail in less than a week. So, once again, it was back to the store to get a replacement. Hopefully everything else will last for a while.
  • Even though it happens every year, we’re always a bit discombobulated after the time change. And, it’s more than a bit depressing that it gets dark before I get home from work. Summer is definitely over.
  • The Wife and I have identified the next electronic gadget that we will be getting. We won’t be getting it for a while since it’s not very useful during the winter. Yet another reason why we love the burning hot days of summer.
  • I’ve been eating much too much left-over Halloween candy. Thankfully it’s all gone or I would be starting to worry about getting big.
