Monday Monologue #115

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The Buckeyes had a HUGE win in the conference championship game on Saturday and “bumped” a team that was previously ahead of them in the rankings to make the play-offs. They’re our favorite college football team so we’re happy; but, I wonder why they decided on a four team playoff when there are five “power” conferences. Under the current format, at least one conference champion will always be left out.
  •  I really, really like the new keyboards that we purchases a few weeks ago. The mechanical key switches make it much easier to type quickly and accurately. I’d like to get one for work; but I’m sure it would vanish on day while I was away from my desk.
  •  The “temporary” dog is always begging for table food. It’s amazing how well behaved she is when you’ve got something that she wants to eat. Training her has been an agonizingly slow process; partly because she’s not quite as intelligent as some other breeds I’ve trained; but, mostly because it’s really not my job.
  • After the last update, the FB app on my smartphone makes a bunch of strange sounds when I’m using it or notifications when I’m not. It’s weird, and not in a good way. Once again, I find myself wondering what engineer thought such noisy design was a good idea.
