The Wife and I almost died of starvation today. Well, not really, but we did go to a restaurant where we were never served despite being there for over an hour. I know it’s a Friday night and they were “busy”. But, that still not an excuse. Businesses that are too crowded and busy suddenly find out that they are not. We didn’t let it run our evening. We went someplace else with MUCH better service and had great meal. And, of course were never, ever going back to the first place.

Traditional Thursday #122

Today would ordinarily be a football themed post; but, we’re not fans of either team. We will definitely watch the game; but, we don’t care much who wins and who loses. Hopefully there will be some interesting commercials; especially if … Continue reading
Wednesday Weirdness #122
I was finally able to “fix” my phone by doing a factory reset. Once I did that, everything installed and updated without any problems. Of course, then I needed to re-install all of my apps and data, since a factory reset wipes out all the data, including the virtual SD card. To make sure I didn’t lose anything, I also needed to backup and restore everything on the card to my computer. The entire process was a gigantic nuisance. It really shouldn’t be that hard to keep your data.
Tuesday Two For #122

I’ve been struggling for most of the evening trying to update the software my smart phone. It’s just been one issue after another. I didn’t have any problems the last time; but, the installing most recent update has been a … Continue reading
Monday Monologue #122
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
- I think that “Deflategate” is overblown; but no professional QB on the planet can honestly claim that they didn’t notice. If you make your living handling something you know when it’s different.
- I wonder when the news media is going to stop adding “gate” to every controversy. A majority of Americans weren’t even born when the “plumbers” were breaking into the Watergate Hotel.
- I don’t watch a lot of YouTube videos; so I’m not sure when they started inserting advertisements. They’re so annoying. I can’t believe that anyone actually clicks on them (except by accident).
- I finally received the rebate in the mail for a purchase I made in November. It was $20 so it was worth the wait. I keep good records and make sure I don’t forget to periodically check the status of any outstanding rebates. Still, I really wonder why it takes so long for something so simple.
Friday Featurette #121
The weather this month has been a LOT warmer than last year; so I’ve managed to avoid the winter time blues. The days are still cold and gray; but at least we can go outside without having to dress like we’re going on an excursion to the North Pole. In fact, we worked out outside twice last week. It’s supposed to snow this weekend; but, so far, the weather hasn’t been gloomy. Even the “temporary” dog which needs constant attention/supervision doesn’t seem like as much of a nuisance.
Anyway, have a good weekend. I’m in a pretty good mood, as you can see, so I know I’ll have one.
Traditional Thursday #121

I try and conserve my vacation during the winter so I’ve got plenty of time off to use during the summer when it’s warm and sunny outside. Memorial Day is my next holiday weekend. Thinking about how far it is … Continue reading
Wednesday Weirdness #121
A person I work with keeps sending me emails trying to get me to work on a task that my supervisor told me was very low a priority. As much as I would like to, I don’t set my priorities. It really doesn’t matter how important/urgent she things it is. I do what my boss tell me to do. And, based upon the messages she’s sent, it doesn’t really seem like that big of a deal. I just wish she would leave me alone.
Tuesday Two For #121

For January, today was a great. Comparatively speaking, it was warm. And there was plenty of sun. Definitely not our typical January weather. I’m sure that it will be back cold and dreary soon. But, for once, it didn’t seem … Continue reading
Monday Monologue #121
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
- It seems like I’ve been doing nothing but software upgrades and updates the past few weeks. I like to stay current; but there’s been a bunch of new versions of programs I’ve got installed released recently.
- It was somewhat windy; but The Wife and I were able to run outside on Saturday. I even wore shorts! It was nice since there aren’t many days in January where we can go outside. Last year was brutally cold.
- I decided that as long as the “temporary” dog is here anyway, I’m going to teach her to pick up her toys. Hopefully, she’ll be living somewhere else before she’s learned how. But; if not, it’s one less annoyance for us.
- I ordered some Gynol II. Diaphragms aren’t in use much anymore. We’re some of the rare few who prefer such an antiquated method. But, thankfully, contraceptive jelly is still relatively easy to find.
