I thought that I was doing a reasonable job of keeping our computer clean. But, despite my best intentions, there was an amazing amount of software and accompanying configuration files and registry settings that we had not used in years. Not large programs taking up a lot of space; but small ones that were used occasionally once upon a time and long forgotten. Plus program settings for previous versions of software we have that weren’t deleted when we uninstalled and upgraded. It’s a lesson that I already know. I just need to be more thorough.
