It was too cold and windy to row today. It’s supposed to be warm next week. But, we won’t have many more days after the upcoming time change. We don’t mind the winter (and actually kinda like the change of seasons). We just enjoy warm weather a lot more. So, we’re really hoping to enjoy the Indian summer. If we don’t post much next week, you know were outside.

I happened to glance at my agenda for tomorrow on my phone when I was switching to month view in the calendar app when I noticed that I’m scheduled or FIVE meetings. I wonder how I’m supposed to get anything done. I’ve got no free time to do any actual work. Sometimes I feel like I’m working in Dilbert’s world.
We’re still at the very early stages; but The Wife and I are jonesing for a new car. We love our gigantic SUVs; but, really would like a newer sedan than the one we have now. We’re not going through another winter without getting something more comfortable and reliable in cold weather. We just need to decide when the “best” time is. We haven’t decided on the timing yet; but, it’s definitely going to be “soon”.
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
We’re road warriors this weekend. We don’t take as many road trips as we once did; but, we still travel enough to make our gigantic SUV worthwhile. We really haven’t slowed much down since the kids graduated college. We’ve just been spending our time doing the things that we didn’t have time to do before. Being able to focus more on ourselves has been a change. But it’s all been good.

At work yesterday I actually received an email that said: “I know I should have told you last week and somehow forgot to mention it in any of the many conversations we’ve had since then; but we need this (big huge task) by done by Friday. Is there any way you can still get it done (so I don’t look totally irresponsible)?” I was polite and factual in my reply; but there were a lot of things that I wanted to say. And “yes, no problem” was not among them.
