Friday Featurette #187

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherBelieve it or not, I took the afternoon off again. Sadly, I don’t have enough vacation to do it every week; but, it’s a great way to kick off the weekend. We rowed while we had the river to ourselves and then I cut the grass so I didn’t have any chores to do over the weekend. The new mower I got makes things much quicker. I didn’t even need to refill it’s gas tank. Here’s to the weekend. Ours is already off to a fantastic start and its only just beginning.

Wednesday Weirdness #187

I cleaned our wood deck over the weekend. It had a lot more dirt on it that I thought. I knew it was dirty; but I didn’t realize how dirty it was until I could see the before and after washing side by side. One of those things that happens gradually over time that you don’t really notice. Now that I have the tools and don’t have to pay someone or rent or borrow equipment, I’m never going to let it get that dirty again.

Monday Monologue #187

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • To kick off the spring, I got a bunch of new outdoor power equipment. It made for a long weekend; but, it was all good since it was warm and sunny outside. I thought my old lawnmower was good; but, the new one is way better. It’s going to be a great time saver.
  • The temperature was over 80-degrees today. The only thing “bad” was that it wasn’t sunny until after 9PM. Needless to say, we rowed ’til the sun went down. Days like today are why I am more cheerful in the spring and summer.
  • We are counting down to opening day for our pool. I’ve got the deck ready and the yard is looking good. Plus, the weather has been great. The only thing missing is the pool actually being open. Hopefully, we won’t have too much spring rain when it is finally open.
  • Now that its sunny, I am really enjoying the sunglasses I got a few months ago. The only problem is that I don’t have any place to put them when we are out in our boat and it starts getting dark. It makes preparing to dock somewhat interesting.

Friday Featurette #186

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherI took the afternoon off again ant it was just as good as the last time. I wish I had enough vacation to take every Friday afternoon off. (Who doesn’t.) There was a chance of a spring rain; but the day ended up being warm and sunny. The extra time makes it seem almost like a three-day weekend. We’re already relaxed and prepared for the weekend by early Friday night. And, now that we’ve prepared and paid our taxes, we can concentrate on more fun things. After having a bunch of blah spring days we’re glad are gone; it’s great having days that you wish we could get back. Have a great weekend wherever you are. I know that we are definitely going to get out and enjoy the sun.

Wednesday Weirdness #186

When I was out and about earlier today, I saw a woman riding a bicycle wearing a longish skirt and high heels. I guess ladies get used to doing everything in heels but her proficiency was notable. It’s interesting what’s now considered out of the ordinary. Business attire is somewhat unusual; but it wouldn’t be memorable if she was biking in shorts and a tank top even if her outfit was super skimpy.

Tuesday Two For #186

Because of the lighting, today’s video of The Wife drying her hair has an almost voyeuristic feel. The days are longer; but there is not as much sunlight coming through the windows late in the evening. And, recently, we’ve still been out enjoying the day when the sun is still high in the sky. So far, the week has been fabulous.

Monday Monologue #186

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The weather was glorious so The wife and I went out and rowed a LOT over the weekend. It was sunny and warm without a cloud in sight. A great way to get back into our regular schedule.
  • Most of the games are blow outs; but I’m still enjoying the early rounds of play offs in the association. Hopefully our favorite team can do better than they did last year.
  • I mailed our taxes today. It was definitely an un fun experience. It almost seems like last Friday wasn’t a regular pay day.
  • I saw that another neighbor is building a swimming pool in their backyard. I wonder if they will be swimming before we will since our opening day is already finalized for early next month. (Two weeks later than usual.)
