Friday Featurette #222

The Wife sitting naked on the bed with a tube of flavored lubricantEven though I’m rarely sick I seem to have caught whatever is going around this winter. I’m slightly miserable; but, trying not to let it ruin the last weekend of my vacation.

Have a great long weekend.

See you in 2017.

Wednesday Weirdness #222

It happens every year; but I’m always amazed by how many email requests I get from people that know I’m on vacation. And then, when I don’t reply, they email me again. I’m not off the grid; but, that doesn’t mean I’m working. That should not be a difficult concept; but, somehow, it is.

Monday Monologue #222

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Merry Christmas! We know it’s a day late; but, since we’re having our Christmas celebration today, it seems fitting to wish everyone merry Christmas.
  • For us, it wasn’t a problem; but the datacenter our server is in was offline due to network issues (again) over the weekend. This blog is just a fun hobby for us. So, the lost uptime isn’t catastrophic.
  • It was almost 70-degrees today. I’m sure that winter will return shortly; but it was nice to run outside in shorts and a lightweight shirt.
  • The Wife and I went out for dinner on Christmas since it was just us. Not something that we would want to do every year; but it was still a good evening. It was definitely more crowded that we expected.

Friday Featurette #221

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" session wearing a Santa hatThe data center that hosts the server for this blog has been having networking issues recently. To (hopefully) permanently fix the problem they will be performing an equipment upgrade this weekend. So, if we’re offline for a while like we were a couple of weeks ago, we haven’t vanished forever. We’ll be back as soon as connectivity is restored. Hopefully it’s the last outage for a long time.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Wednesday Weirdness #221

After all the near-zero temperatures last week, it was 40-degrees today! The weather around here is certainly very changeable. It was still dark and dreary; but nonetheless a better way to start the winter than dark, dreary and bitter cold. Especially since we’re on vacation and didn’t have to go anywhere.

Monday Monologue #221

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I’ve done a lot of Christmas shopping without leaving home. There are always a few things which I purchase a local store; but I’m buying more and more online. The retail shopping experience has really changed in the age of the internet.
  • It was nice not having to go to work today. Instead of a typical hectic Monday, I enjoyed a day without much to do. Work is becoming in a distant memory.
  • I went to Sears exchanged the socket that I broke last week when I was working on one of our cars. The store wasn’t very crowded which was good for me; but it’s probably not a good sign for them. Especially considering how crowded the mall parking lot was.
  • It’s cold outside! If this is what December is like, I don’t even want to think about January and February. It was finally warm enough to go to the car wash which is good since my car was covered with road salt. The water that didn’t get dried off still froze on the way home; but, at least the car wash was open.
