Monday Monologue #234

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I think that the photos last week were grainy because the camera’s sensors got confused and though that her was more light than there actually was. Probably due to a reflection from something or other. In the future, I’ll ensure that it’s got a more direct line of sight to he intended subjects and that there’s nothing else prominent in the foreground.
  • I’ve given up on the WordPress app for my phone. More and more functionality has been moved to the cloud (i.e. wordpress.com). If their Jetpack plugin is installed, the latest development version won’t even connect to a blog without connection to wordpress.com. We self-host for many reasons, one of which is privacy. We’ve been extra careful regarding the plugins we install here and don’t use anything that “phones home”. Still; it’s pointless to have an app that only works with some of our blogs. Plus, it was becoming more and more of a nuisance to periodically build the app just to sanitize it.
  • Today is the first day of spring. So, of course, it rained and rained and rained. I definitely need to cut the grass as soon as its warm enough and dry enough. Thankfully, we had a lot fewer “big” snowfalls than normal even though it was a cold dark dreary winter.  I’m kinda looking forward to lawn mowing season.
  • I’m still very slightly congested; but I feel mostly normal. Hopefully, I haven’t spoken too soon. I’ve been sick enough this winter to last for the rest of the decade. I almost can’t remember what it not being sick feels like.
