Traditional Thursday #237

The Wife getting The Husband ready for actionWe decided that it’s not quite time to reach into the way-back machine and, instead, feature a photograph that showed off the tans we got while on vacation. That definitely wouldn’t be happening around here in early April.

Wednesday Weirdness #237

We’re home now and had a great time; but the one mildly “annoying” things about our trip was how many people in LARGE power boats ignored the many “No Wake Zone” signs. Especially considering how many easily swamped water craft were on the water. It would have only take them a few minutes extra to travel through the zone; but, apparently, that was too much trouble. Some idiots were actually at full throttle.

Tuesday Two For #237

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionOur camera took five photographs and stopped right at the start of our photo session so we didn’t have many pictures to choose from this week. We’ll probably be reaching into the way-back machine for the rest of this week’s photographs. Or perhaps we’ll do some re-takes. Our technology problems never seem to stop. Thankfully, this is a much more fun problem to have.

Monday Monologue #237

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The Wife and I are on a short mini-vacation. It’s coming to an end but it’s been fabulous. It’s been a great way to kick off the start of warm weather.
  • My “smart” car is smart once again and has performed very well on the road trip we are on. I was very happy to have it operation since we use many of the previously non-working features when we are travelling.
  • I noticed that we have a bunch of USB transformers and mini power strips in our travel kit that could easily be replaced with one USB charging station. At one time, we had several non-USB-powered chargers like our camera and needed the extra outlets; but, not any more.
  • Now that it has been warm, I kinda wish we were opening our pool around Tax Day as we have done in the past. May isn’t too far; but it’s would be nice to be able to look out over the pool even if we can’t get in it.

Friday Featurette #236

The Wife sitting naked on the bed after a "photo" sessionI got my car fixed just in time for the weekend! Hopefully it won’t have any more problems. It certainly was a big enough of a nuisance. I’m still setting everything back up; but it’s nice to have a “smart” vehicle again. I haven’t had any mechanical problems which is really good. A single computer problem was quite enough.

Wednesday Weirdness #236

An internet seller with whom I’ve purchased from many times recently updated the software that manages their online store. My latest order was somehow stuck on hold for unknown reasons. I called them about it several times; but they were never able to ship it. I was patient for a while; but finally gave up and cancelled it. I would have understood the delay if they have better communicated the issues. But, it’s frustrating to be not have something that I’ve purchased and paid for and be waiting for days on an explanation and ETA. Now I’m waiting on a refund which isn’t as much of an annoyance since I’ve definitely got way to get my money back.

Tuesday Two For #236

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionThere was a ferocious storm just before our photo session. Rain and hail and very strong winds. Definitely the sort of thing that makes you glad to be inside. And, for once, our power did not go out. Usually we lose our electricity whenever there is a bad storm. So, today was a good day even though its destined to be a dark and stormy night.

Monday Monologue #236

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The weather this weekend was weird, even for around here. Saturday was cold and blustery. Sunday was gorgeous. We had to cram all of our outdoor activities into one day; but it was still a great weekend.
  • My “smart” car is still dumb and I’m not too happy about it. I understand that new technology can have issues; but they aren’t any closer to a fix than they were last week.
  • I completed the first and second pass of our taxes. We will not be receiving a refund so we’re not in a hurry. That’s kinda the way we plan it; but, we still don’t like to mail in a check any sooner than necessary.
  • It’s too late to change it but I wish we had scheduled our pool opening for earlier in the year. We wouldn’t be swimming yet; but it makes our backyard seem much more cheerful. I’ve already cut the grass multiple times.
