Friday Featurette #248

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherThe Friday before a LONG weekend has arrived! We’ve both been waiting for this day for months. We’ll row, get in the pool and, otherwise, just do not much of anything. It’s raining now but we’re hopeful that it will pass through and that we can get out and enjoy the sun. We’re finally on vacation.

Have a GREAT Independence Day weekend!

Traditional Thursday #248

The Husband on top of The Wife with her legs in the airWe haven’t’ had one in many, many years so I am still getting used to having a headboard on the bed. The head of bed is a few inches away the wall so there isn’t as much noise due to vibration. You can’t tell from the picture since it’s such a small distance; but, it still seems “different”. Strange how such a small change is noticeable enough to be slightly disorienting.

Wednesday Weirdness #248

Amazingly, I just received an email update for to a bug report that I filed almost 7 years ago! Apparently, the problem is still going on. I haven’t had problems since I use different software these days. But, people who have a similar configuration to what I had back then still encounter the issue.

Tuesday Two For #248

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionAs you can see from the picture, we recently got a new headboard for our bed. It seems a bit out of place because we’ve actually never had a headboard for the entire time that we’ve had this blog or our previous one! We’ll make a movie with audio sometime soon; but, amazingly, the bed makes even more noise now than it did when it was against the wall.

Monday Monologue #248

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Since the river was too high and fast to row, The Wife and I used the time that we would have ordinarily been rowing been rowing to strip and wax our boat. It looks really nice and should probably be more than a once a year task.
  • Our swimming pool is almost over flowing. It went from almost needing to add water to nearly overflowing the sides in the matter of a few hours. It definitely would have overflowed if the water level hadn’t been low.
  • By Sunday, the grass had dried out enough to be mowed from Friday’s heavy rainfall. It was still a bit wet in places; but dry enough to cut. I was actually surprised that I could mow the entire yard.
  • Both of us got some new athletic clothing to wear while rowing in anticipation of hot weather. Hopefully we will “need ” to wear our new stuff in the very near future.

Friday Featurette #247

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionThe river is too high to row due to the heavy rainfall from the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy so The Wife and I didn’t row today and will likely be of the water for the next few days. We had an early evening; but, we prefer being outside enjoying the sun. Compare The Wife’s tan with the one in pictures from earlier in the year. Stay dry and have a great weekend.

Traditional Thursday #247

The Husband on top of The Wife with her legs in the airThe Wife was feeling a bit droopy and low on energy today. Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow. But, she still had enough energy for our photo session. So, our summer is off to a good start. We hope yours is too.

P.S. We both are getting quite a rowers tan. Hopefully there will be some good pool weather this weekend so we can work on getting get rid of them.

Wednesday Weirdness #247

I found a medium sized dead thing floating in the pool when I woke up today. So, I scooped it up with the net, disposed of it, and put everything away. Then when I checked the skimmers, I found another dead thing in one of the baskets and had to do everything all over again. I know that it’s bound to happen occasionally if you have a pool. But, twice in the same day was sad.

Tuesday Two For #247

The Husband going down on The WifeToday is the last day of spring and the second longest day of the year. A great time to be out and about. We hope that tomorrow brings a day you can get outside and enjoy the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. There will be plenty of time for indoor activities over the winter during the endless dreary days we always seem to have. Summer has finally arrived!

Monday Monologue #247

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The weekend was even busier than planned. But it was all good. Looking toward another crazy busy couple of days outside in the sun next weekend. The upcoming long weekend for the 4th of July should be nice and relaxing.
  • The new outdoor power equipment I got last year is great for hectic weekends. The engine is powerful enough that yard work always takes the same amount of time even if the grass is long and/or wet. Definitely quicker than the small push mower I was using previously.
  • I did take a break and get in the pool on Saturday afternoon which was nice. It was a great way to relax after a busy day. Unfortunately, Sunday was super windy and not good pool weather. I really could use an extra weekend day sometimes.
  • It rained today; but we still got our row in after the storms passed. It’s nice not being on a schedule and being able to get out whenever we want. Much better than rowing at a specific time.
