Wednesday Weirdness #256

The hard drive on my computer at work went bad recently and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, a few programs got corrupted before I noticed including Internet Explorer which is the hardest program ever to repair since it can’t easily be uninstalled and reinstalled. I was finally able to fix it this week; but, it took hours and hours because of all the Windows updates and reboots needed to get it back to the most recent version.

Monday Monologue #256

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I enjoyed the big fight this past Saturday. Usually, events like that don’t live up to the hype; but this one did.
  • We rowed and got in the pool on Sunday. Hopefully, there will be more of the same over the three-day weekend next week. Hopefully we won’t be in the path of hurricane remnants.
  • We have our pool closing scheduled so the un-official end of summer is near. It’s already starting to get dark much earlier than it a couple of months ago so it’s clear that that the long hot days of summer are coming to an end.
  • We’ve had to replace several things for our boat recently. Having your own equipment is nice but there is more ongoing maintenance that that I thought there would be. Probably because our more stringent definition of needs replacement.

Friday Featurette #255

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherIt took all week; but I am finally caught up at work after being on vacation. Vacations are great; but, sometimes, I have so much extra work waiting for me when I return that it seems more like an alternate schedule. Now, the only thing left to do is catch up on my chores at home.

Wednesday Weirdness #255

Some idiot kid thought that it would be fun to ride his bicycle under our boat while we were carrying it rather than go around! He could have really gotten hurt if he ran into the rigger. And our boat could have been heavily damaged. I yelled at him; but, he didn’t care. He was just a complete jerk.

Monday Monologue #255

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The eclipse today was super cool. We don’t live in the path of the totality; but it still got dark enough that wildlife was confused. Birds were flying around confused and roosting for the night. Water fowl got out of the water. And other things like that. Glad we decided to go watch it outdoors.
  • Our vacation was great! Almost enough to keep us going until Labor Day. We really hated to see it end. Especially since the weather around here is turning cooler after having 90-degrees temperatures every day while we were on vacation.
  • I had to have the hard drive replaced on my computer at work. Unfortunately, a few programs were corrupted before I noticed including Internet Explorer which seems impossible to fully uninstall and reinstall. And a lot of other automatically applications send you to web sites using the default browser.
  • I’m more relaxed than I was before our vacation; but I’m so far behind at work that I’m sure it’s going to take me all week to catch up. But, our vacation was definitely worth it.
