Friday Featurette #260

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherThis is one of those rare weekends where I am going to be busy and The Wife is not. Usually, we have mostly the same stuff to do. So, we both are busy doing things or we both are relaxing. We’ve been having cool nights recently; but the days are still warm so long as it’s sunny which is a good thing since I’ll be outside a lot. Hard to believe that October is already here. Have a great weekend.

Wednesday Weirdness #260

My next-door neighbor has NOT cut his grass since late last week even though I cut mine this weekend. He must be out of town. It will be “interesting” if we are still living next to him when he retires and has more time on his hands. Hopefully it’s not anytime soon.

Monday Monologue #260

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • The recharged air conditioner cooled things down very efficiently and we had a cool Friday night and a comfortable weekend generally.
  • The Wife and I rowed extra on Sunday even though it was blazing hot. Mostly because it’s one of the last hot days of the summer. Sadly, we will be back to normal late September temperatures by the end of the week. We hate to see the end of summer.
  • We also got in the pool both days. It was glorious. It was probably for the last time of the year; but, it was a great way to end the pool season.
  • Due to a glitch from maintenance over the weekend, I have no email at work. In fact, I can’t even start Outlook and look back over old emails. And no matter how many times I personally tell people that I don’t have email, people continue to message me and wonder why I don’t respond.

Friday Featurette #259

The Husband on top of The Wife with her legs togetherThe air conditioner in our house died today going into a weekend when it’s supposed to be above 90-degrees every day. Fortunately, the serviceman was able to come out and add some refrigerant. Now we just have to wait for the house to cool off. Not the best way to start the weekend; but, better than it could have been. Stay cool and have a great weekend.

Traditional Thursday #259

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionI installed a new version of WordPress, the software that runs this blog, today. Security updates are good. But new version needs a lot more testing before being releases so that sites don’t require constant updates. Sadly, there are few if any good alternatives, especially ones that are truly in the spirit of FOSS.

Wednesday Weirdness #259

I’ve been dealing a lot recently with a scatterbrained person who “remembers” things that are totally inaccurate. She gets everything and everybody confused. I don’t even know what to tell her since I have no idea what concerns me that she might be mixing up with someone else. Everything is a big disorganized mess.

Monday Monologue #259

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I was able to cut the grass in between the time we rowed and we got in the pool after we got home on Sunday. So, I got my weekend chores done and had still had a relaxing day.
  • My next door neighbor cut his grass too even though he cut it few days ago. It’s kinda funny that my grass can never be shorter than his. Of course, the grass in our yard is much thicker and looks a lot better since it’s not stressed by constant mowing.
  • Earlier today, I almost got run into by a car turning left into oncoming traffic after going the wrong way on a one-way street to go the wrong way on the one-way street I was driving on. Thy didn’t seem to know or care that they were going the wrong way.
  • Every day the sunset gets noticeably earlier and earlier. It’s kinda depressing. It won’t be too long before we’ll only have the weekend to do outside things because it will get too dark in the evenings.
