Monday Monologue #265

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • It was much too cold and far too wet for me to cut the grass this weekend. It’s going to be awhile since there isn’t enough light left in the evenings when I get home from work.
  • I washed our car only to have it rained on with a really dirty rain. I like to get the road grime off even if some precipitation is forecast; but, this was one of those occasions where it was pointless.
  • I ended up being outside more that I wanted too on Saturday and Sunday. Glad that I have good equipment and wasn’t too miserable. But some sun world has been nice.
  • The new wallet I got organizes things more efficiently but I haven’t gotten used to it yet and am still having a hard time quickly locating things.

Friday Featurette #264

The Husband on top of The Wife with her legs togetherSadly, winter is finally here. Sleet and snow are forecast for tomorrow with a chance of a cold rain on Sunday. I’ll be outside some; but, I won’t be having as much fun as I would if it was warmer. Typical late October weather. We were just hoping for another week (or too) of unseasonably warm temperatures. I think we’ll be inside drinking hot apple cider by the fire place a lot in the near future. Stay warm.

Traditional Thursday #264

The Husband on top of The Wife with her legs in the airI turned on the fireplace for the first time of the season yesterday. It was nice to have a warm, cheery fire going. The first time we use is also a bit depressing, however. It’s not “cold” yet. But, it’s a lot colder than it has been. We know that summer is gone and won’t be back until next year. We are still hoping for a warm fall, which, so far, does not appear to be likely. And, sadly, it’s not much fun when it’s too cold to go out and play.

Wednesday Weirdness #264

I tried a can of the new Coke Zero Sugar earlier today and decided that it’s an acceptable replacement for the Coke Zero that I typically drink so long as there is a caffeine-free version. I try and avoid caffeinated drinks as much as possible. Otherwise, I have days like today where I’m still awake even though its late and I should be sleeping.

Tuesday Two For #264

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionIt’s hard to tell with the pixilation; but The Wife had a nice smile in this picture so we decided to post it. It’s great that we’re still laughing and having fun after all these years. Just like this past summer has flown by, we wonder how all the years since we first met went by so fast too. We mostly still look toward the future; but sometimes, we reflect on the past. It’s been quite an adventure.

Monday Monologue #264

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I cleaned the tile in the shower over the weekend which is a good thing since it really needed it. Unfortunately, I spilled cleaned on the floor and ruined a bath towel which is not a good thing. Amazingly, I was able to find an identical replacement at the store.
  • I finally retired my wallet after most of the stitching came undone. So, now I’m trying to break in a new one. It’s only be a couple of days and it still feels like I’m sitting on a brick.
  • We made sure to enjoy the weather this weekend. We rowed both days and did the homeowner thing which was good since there has been a steady rain since early this morning. I think we’re done with the yard except for a mowing or two until next spring.
  • Even though I arrived 20 minutes early, I still had almost two hour wait for an appointment I had today. What’s the point of taking appointment’s if you’re going to be so far behind schedule? What a gigantic waste of my time.

Friday Featurette #263

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherThis weekend is supposed to be warm and sunny. Unfortunately, it may be the last one we have for a while. So, we’re going to get outside and enjoy it. This past summer went by in the blink of an eye. We’re hoping for a mild winter like last year; but, that doesn’t seem likely. This area is home; but, we are really not fond of the winter. Have a great weekend!

Wednesday Weirdness #263

We closed the pool yesterday. We thought about getting in it one last time over the weekend. But the sun is so low on the sky we would have been in the shade most of the time. Having a heater is nice. But, it still can’t make up for a sun that barely seems to come over the horizon. So, we went for a row and did the homeowner thing instead. Spring seems a long time away.
