I am definitely ready for the weekend. Even more so than usual. I caught a cold on Monday or Tuesday week and by Thursday I was so tired, I didn’t even have enough energy to go get my new eyeglasses even though they were ready. I’m feeling better today; but, still more sick than well. Going to spend some quality family time and try to recuperate as much as possible. Have a great weekend. See you on the other side.

Traditional Thursday #283
I’m not quite sure what our signature video topic for 20018 will be; but, right now, we serendipitously seem to creating, more high-quality videos. (Although the sound track still needs work.) Here is the continuation from Tuesday. It looks like, once again, it will be to wet to go out and play for a while.
Wednesday Weirdness #283
I accidentally installed some software that I didn’t want today; mostly because a check box with the “option” to also install some recommended junkware appeared a fraction of a second before I clicked the “install” button on some software I did want. And, of course the “uninstaller” didn’t work, so I had to uninstall it manually. I can’t understand how anyone thinks installing software on the computers of unsuspecting uses is a good business model. I was so mad with the deception, I stated looking at alternatives for the software that I did want.
Tuesday Two For #283
We haven’t had any “spring-like ” weather recently; but The Wife and I are rowing once again. So, even though we need to wear a thick base layer, it’s the unofficial start of our spring. Here is a video of the two us getting the party started after we got home from one of our rows. It was a good day both on and off the water.
Monday Monologue #283
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
- It was a little bit hectic because of some of the things that we had going on; but, otherwise, we had a great weekend.
- The Wife and I rowed for the first time of the year today. Later in the year than we would like for a first row. But, we can’t control the weather. And, the winter weather has really dragged on this year.
- And now that winter is (almost) over, I seem to be catching a cold. Hopefully, I will get over it quickly.
- I still haven’t done our taxes. This is as long as I can remember going without at even starting. Of course, we can’t file for an extension since we always owe.
Friday Featurette #282
It’s a couple of months early; but The Wife’s 30th anniversary gift arrived today. It was hard to keep it a secret since I ordered it months ago. But, its her now and today was a very good day. I’m sure we’ll be posting more about it later. Have a great weekend. I know we will. And enjoy the show.

Here is more of the movie that we made. Not one of my better transcoding efforts. It was still fun to create even if a lot was lost in the process of re-encoding for the web. We still have our ongoing problems with sound. Our camera captures high-quality .AVI videos. So, our originals are usually a good starting point. And something fun to look back upon later.
Wednesday Weirdness #282
Today, I was trying to create an account on one of those sites that asked stupid security questions. The kind that anyone who knows you casually would know the answer too. So, I just had to make something up. Unfortunately, by the time I could write down the fake answers and the corresponding questions, the page would time out and I would have to start all over again. And when it did, it listed a different set of easy to answer questions. So, I had to repeat the process over and over again until I was able invent and save the answers (and questions) quickly enough. It was a gigantic nuisance.
Tuesday Two For #282
Some non-work-related things happened in real life that made today not the best of days. Nothing “important” in the big picture. Bit it still made for a somber day. So, today we’re just posting a quick video. The original is better than the transcoded copy but I didn’t feel like editing it or really doing much of anything. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
Monday Monologue #282
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
- Earlier today we had nice spring like weather with temperatures near 60-degrees. Now, the temperature outside has already dropped into the 30s and snow is supposed to start falling in the next few hours. Not the best way to start off the week.
- Of course, I used the good weather on Sunday to switch my outdoor power equipment back to lawn-care mode. So, I will be outside in the cold on Tuesday changing things back to the winter configuration.
- Since it was looking more like spring, I ordered some new prescription glasses for outdoor activities on Friday. They won’t arrive for a week or so. Hopefully this is the last blast of winter and there will be plenty of sun to try them out.
- Taxes are due in a month. Long past time to work on them. I just haven’t had the energy to start on such a depressing task whenever I happen to think about it. Hopefully next weekend.
