Wednesday Weirdness #287

Shopping for new sheets for the bed was a very frustrating experience for The Wife. She was unable to find any complete sets. Only separates. I’m not sure what their logic is. Yet one more reason not to shop at local stores. It’s almost like they don’t want our business by making it a nuisance to shop for department store basics in their misguided efforts to increase sales.

Tuesday Two For #287

We got a new mattress and foundation (box spring) this week and wanted to make movie and test the sound. Unfortunately, our camera ran for exactly 23-seonds before it stopped recording. It’s older and can be a bit fussy, especially if I don’t set the dial just right. But, stopping right at the beginning of our session today was especially frustrating. We will definitely try again. We were focused on other things. However, neither of us recall hearing nearly as much background noise. Hopefully, our sound problem is fixed for a while. Meanwhile, here is a first look at our new bed.

Monday Monologue #287

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • It rained today which was an improvement, comparatively speaking, over the snow that we had the previous three Mondays. Still, we are tired of all the wet rainy days.
  • I cut our grass for the first time of the season on Sunday. Its late for the first cut. But it has been so cold that that the grass really hasn’t grown much. Before I mowed, it wasn’t much taller than the neighbor who always cuts his.
  • We order a new bed today. It should theoretically be here on Wednesday. It’s a nuisance since we have to get all new stuff; but we decided to get a queen size. I’m not sure the extra 6-inches of width will make much difference.
  • We were able to row both days this weekend. Ordinarily, that would not be notable. But this weekend was actually the first time this cold, wet spring we were able to row both days.

Friday Featurette #286

The Wife standing naked in front of the mirror drying her hairI’ve got a busy weekend planned. I usually have a lot of things to do in the summer; but, I have a lot to do, even for someone who is almost always busy. These days, that seems to be the way of things. Super busy when its warmer and not much to do when it’s cold. And, this spring has been so cold and wet that there is even more to do when it’s not. Still, I would rather be busy than for it to be cold.

Have a great weekend. See you on the other side.

Wednesday Weirdness #286

A small trim piece on my car got broken while we were on our road trip this weekend. Unfortunately, I will not be replacing it any time soon since it is only sold as part of a much larger assembly that cost several hundred dollars. It makes no sense that such an easily breakable piece is not sold separately. I highly doubt anyone is spending several hundred dollars when all they need is a small piece of plastic.

Monday Monologue #286

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • It snowed all the way back from our weekend road trip! It really doesn’t seem like mid-April.
  • I’ve got our tax returns ready to mail on Tuesday. We always owe and never get any money back and this year is no different. But, we are glad to have the extra day to keep our money.
  • All of the rain has been good for the grass which really needs to get cut. Hopefully it will warm up enough so that it will at least feel somewhat spring-like when I’m outside mowing the lawn.
  • I found a new gym to box and work out at. So far, I like it much better than the gym I use to go to.

Friday Featurette #285

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionThe Wife and I are taking a well-deserved vacation this weekend. We are heading south and are looking very forward to seeing some sun. Its been a long winter (and doesn’t seem quite over yet). Have a great weekend. We’ll see you on the other side.
