Our Independence Day vacation has started! We are looking forward to a fantastic holiday. Have a great weekend.
We got phosphates in our swimming pool this past weekend which is never a good thing. I was able to remove the phosphates; but now the chemistry is unbalanced. So, we may not be able to get in the pool while the air conditioner is broken and it is burning hot outside. The hot weather will help dissipate the excess chemicals; but, we won’t be able to cool off in the pool for several days.
Our air conditioning is broken again so we do not have the best photographs this week since we had to leave the windows open even though it was after sunset which and our camera is not the best at nighttime exposures with potion. We don’t know yet when we will be able to have the new one installed. It appears we’re going to have a hot Independence Day vacation.

We had a busy day today and didn’t get to row. Not the best way to get into our weekend. But, that’s happens sometimes. We’ve got another busty weekend planned. I’m not sure that I’ll even have time to cut the grass which is OK since it has been hot. But will probably irritate the next-door neighbor. We’ll catch up with you next week. Have a great weekend!
One of the minor annoyances of both of us being nearsighted is that we can’t see the camera when it’s on the tripod even though its only a few feet away. So, we can’t tell if the light stops flashing (which means it’s not recording). We really never know if it’s working or not. Obviously, it should keep going once it’s started. But sometimes, it doesn’t. Most people see well enough to notice. Unfortunately, we do not. So, making a movie always needs a bit of luck. This time, everything worked as expected and we have a video to share.
I got caught in a torrential downpour when I was rowing on Tuesday. One minute it was clear. The next it was raining really, really hard. I was thoroughly soaked by the time I got back to the dock. Then, not surprisingly, it stopped raining by the time we put away the boat. I know that is the way of things and always a possibility. But, that didn’t make me any less cold and wet.
With our summer tans and the extra sunlight in the evenings we’ve had some issues with the auto-flash not activating when it should. So, this week we decided to make a movie which doesn’t use the flash. Its not a solution for a light sensor which is sometimes confused. But, it works for now. The permanent resolution is a light kit which is maddening difficult to find in our price range. All the ones we’ve seen are to obtrusive and distracting for a bed cam. Its one more thing on our long to-to list.
