Our camera died after only a handful of photos. I restarted it after a while but we did not get as many pictures as we would like. Unreliable equipment is annoying. Especially when it’s something simple like interval shots. When I set it up the second time, there were no issues. Anyway, here is a cute picture from the first group.

Monday Monologue #300
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
- Today is our 300th Monday Monolog post which means that its almost our 6th year. Hard to believe that it’s been that long.
- Our refrigerator compartment won’t keep things cold even though the freezer compartment is working. Something tells me that a new refrigerator is in our future. Bad luck for two major appliances to need replacing in the same year.
- The new air conditioner is a lot more efficient that the one that died. We saved a noticeable amount on our last electric bill even though July was warmer than June.
- It rained enough last week so that I finally had to cut the grass. This week has also been cool and wet so the grass is finally starting to recover.
Friday Featurette #299
I updated the database that supports this blog two major versions in order to resolve a bug with another update. Presumably, comments work, so, please let us know if you discover anything that is not working as it should. Nothing appeared to be broken and everything seemed normal when I was creating this post.
Have a great weekend
Traditional Thursday #299
Here is another segment of the movie we made this week. It is shorter than what we posted on Tuesday; but still higher resolution. Enjoy.
Wednesday Weirdness #299
The work area for a totally unrelated pipeline project has moved into the construction zone of a nearby running bridge reconstruction. What used to be a busy six lane road is now down to one lane in each direction. So now traffic backs up a long way since there aren’t many routes across the river. I really wonder who though that two simultaneous projects in the same area was a good idea.
Tuesday Two For #299
We are doing another movie while we can. Hopefully the bed isn’t too loud yet. The movie is higher resolution and slightly longer than what we typically post so the .MP4 file is big. It has been many, many years; but I still remember the days when we couldn’t post such a large file.
Monday Monologue #299
An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).
- We got soaked in a sudden pop up storm on Saturday. One minute it was sunny. The next, it was raining really hard. Then the sun came back out.
- One of the bad things about working downtown is the lack of free parking. I left the key card that I use to open the gate to the garage I park in at home. So, I had to drive back and it. A nuisance; but, a lot less gas than the cost of the daily parking rate.
- Today was a glorious day on the river. We seldom get water as smooth and flat as it was this evening. Days like today don’t come around too often.
- For the first time since the summer solstice, sunset was before 9PM today. There is still plenty of summer left; but, the days are noticeably shorter.
Friday Featurette #298
We finally had some long-needed rain today. Unfortunately, I got caught in it and got totally drenched walking back from my lunch. So, tonight was an earlier evening for us since we didn’t row. More rain is forecast for the next several days. Hopefully it will be dry at least some of the time and we won’t be stuck inside for the entire weekend.
Have a great weekend.
Traditional Thursday #298

I noticed on the weather app that sunset today is still after 9PM. But, this week will probably be the last week. We like the long summer days since they give us plenty of time to row, wash and inspect … Continue reading
Wednesday Weirdness #298
Recently, it seems like every week we’re getting phosphates in the swimming pool and I have to add an expensive chemical to remove it. I know it’s something that happens. But, I’m not fond of purchasing $50 bottles of liquid. Especially since I can’t go a week without chlorination and I have to purchase it at the local pool supply store at a premium price.
