I re-enabled sound effects on our camera so we would know whether or not it was still taking pictures. It was actually mildly annoying. I know that was originally done to make digital electronic cameras seem more like the mechanical analog devices they were replacing. Unfortunately, it’s much more obtrusive on our older device than on more modern equipment. But, the camera did not shut off.
