Monday Monologue #314

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Though its actually several weeks away, Saturday seemed like the start of winter. It was cold and blustery with snow swirling in the air. I wanted to cut my grass one more time before switching my outdoor power equipment to snow removal mode. But, looking at the extended forecast, I don’t see that happening.
  • The light socket to our oven is broken, and, unfortunately, our local supply store doesn’t stock the part. I ordered the replacement online from a cheap but slow appliance parts supplier. Even though I ordered it today, they’ll won’t ship it until the end of this week so I won’t get it until sometime after Thanksgiving. I would never ever, purchase something I was in urgent need of from them.
  • With all of the browser warnings that are starting to appear regarding “insecure” web sites, I changed this site to redirect to HTTPS. I modified the database directly rather than use a plugin so everything should still be the same. If not, please let us know.
  • The wife and I both donated blood on Saturday. It was a good thing to do over Veteran’s day weekend and an appropriate way to end the outdoor rowing season and start indoor training. It will be months before we “need” maximum cardiovascular capacity again.

  1. Appears that the change to secure had no visible affect at least for me. Pictures still there, movies still work, and still love seeing you guys in actions. Happy turkey day a few days early.
