Wednesday Weirdness #351

I’ve already starting seeing advertisements for the 2020 releases of various products. These days, everything is like cars. Next year’s editions come out in July or August. It does kinda make the 2018 versions I use seem old and in need of updating.

Tuesday Two For #351

The Wife standing naked in front of the mirror drying her hairI may have been a bit too optimistic last week about our camera. The reader didn’t recognize the memory card when I tried to download the pictures from our photo session. Finally, after much inserting and removing the memory card and plugging and unplugging of the card reader from the computer I was able to read and download our pictures. I’ll re-format the card and hope for smoother downloading next week. We did get some pictures we like.

Monday Monologue #351

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • It was interesting to watch some of the rowing championships on TV. Everyone has decent technique. But like most competitors at the international level, they are mostly freakishly good athletes.
  • We finally have had some rain. I didn’t cut the grass this past weekend (again). But, hopefully, it will recover quickly and I’ll need to mow next weekend.
  • The Wife and I ran today since it was rainy. We haven’t run a lot recently since almost every day that was good to be outside was a good day for rowing.
  • The weather this week is forecast to be much cooler. We are looking forward to a three-day weekend next weekend. But, with Labor Day being the symbolic end of summer coupled with the change in the weather, it’s seems like the warm, sunny days we love are over until next year.

Friday Featurette #350

The Wife sitting naked on the bed after a "photo" sessionAfter being on the road or having something to do at a specific time almost every weekend this summer; we are looking forward to a “free” Saturday and Sunday. We still have things that we want to do. However, we really don’t have anything that we need to do at a particular time. We like being busy during the summer. We can sit inside all winter. But, it is nice to have an occasional break. Have a great weekend.

Traditional Thursday #350

The Husband getting up to turn off the camera after a "photo" sessionWe never did get a new camera as we had planned. Principally because our current one we currently have has been (mostly) trouble free all summer. It’s still finicky and definitely needs replacement. But we haven’t had the sort of problems that would bring it to the top of the list of items to be replaced and retired. It would be nice to have one with a remote control. Then I wouldn’t have to jump up out of bed so abruptly after a photo session.

Wednesday Weirdness #350

Our spam filter is configured to restart on regular intervals which usually works well and ensures that it doesn’t run long enough to hang. Except occasionally, it takes a long time to start after being stopped and we get a flood of spam. I’m not surprised. But we get a LOT of junk mail when its offline for just a few minutes. It’s amazing how much email on the internet is unsolicited.

Monday Monologue #350

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Both Saturday and Sunday were busy days like we “like”. Probably a bit too busy. But much better than sitting inside waiting for warm weather.
  • The river we row on is really shallow because of the drought. There ware always places you could see the bottom. But, now it’s not deep enough to safely row in places that the water level was never an issue.
  • I washed my car so, of course, it rained. Not enough to help the grass. But enough so that my car didn’t look like I washed it recently.
  • We’re both taking some time off this week so we won’t be posting until after we go back to work. It Looking forward to our time way.
