Monday Monologue #356

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Our weekend was busy and somewhat hectic. But it was good. Soon enough, there will be plenty of weekends where all we do is sit inside and look out at the snow.
  • I cut the grass this weekend. It needed mowing in some spots, especially in the shade; but must of it was still short and dry. The drought we’ve been having has been hard on our lawn.
  • We’re having a heat wave with temperatures expected in the 90s for the next few days. We got in the pool on Sunday. We’ve done so in late September before; but yesterday was definitely the warmest.
  • The warm weather that we have been experiencing is going to make it even more depressing when it cools off. The last two weekends have been great.

Friday Featurette #355

The Wife fixing the pillows on the bedWe’ve got a busy weekend planned (or more specifically a super busy Saturday) and have to be up very, very early tomorrow. So off to bed for as much sleep as we can get for us. Have a good night and a great weekend.

Wednesday Weirdness #355

The auto-brightness feature on my phone has weirded out. Now, no matter what the lighting conditions, it’s always much too bright. I’ve tried a few things; but, so far, nothing works. Hopefully, I’ll be able to fix it soon. Because, right now, its a gigantic nuisance.

Tuesday Two For #355

The Wife sitting naked on the bed before a "photo" sessionWe don’t like the short days that accompany it; but one thing we enjoy about fall is that there are lots of rowing races. There are a lot of interesting places to go and people to meet as the end of rowing season approaches. We hope that the warm weather lasts and that we will be able to row for a long time. But, if we don’t, we will at least have good memories to sustain us over the winter.

Monday Monologue #355

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Today is the first day of fall and there was a bit of a chill in the air after the sun went down which was mildly depressing since we like to do so many things outside.
  • We visited the temporary dog and her owner this weekend. The two of us being house guests (rather than the other way around) still seems slightly weird.
  • I skipped cutting the grass for yet another weekend. I can finally see a difference between mine and my next-door neighbor who cuts his all the time. So, I’ll probably need to mow soon.
  • The water level in the river is as low as I’ve ever seen it. We can’t row when the water gets too shallow so the laps we row get shorter and shorter.

Friday Featurette #354

The Wife standing naked in front of the mirror drying her hairI noticed when I was adding tags to this post that I had accidentally created a new category because of a typo. That’s way more frustrating than it would seem because there isn’t a way to merge tags despite all the useless and unnecessary features that have been added to WordPress over the past few years. They’ve added a primitive built-in photo editor when lots of external photo editing packages are readily available. Yet you still can’t manage categories. But, at least, its Friday. Have a great weekend.

Wednesday Weirdness #354

The pizza place we regularly order from somehow “forgot” to make our pizza recently. They took the order. And later said it was on the way. But it was never cooked and obviously never delivered. We’re not quite sure what happened. Maybe it was the full moon
