I complain a lot about the winter weather since we can’t do nearly as much outside as we can during the summer. I would complain a lot more if we didn’t have an attached garage and I didn’t have covered parking and long-range remote start I didn’t park when I’m at work or running errands. When you use them every day, luxuries almost seem like necessities. We’ve probably become spoiled; but I like it that way. It makes the winter tolerable.
I got home very late from work today. So, we are only posting a snapshot I took of The Wife drying her hair. The busy winter for me just won’t stop. I am really looking forward to the day when we will have more time to plan and prepare for our picture-taking sessions. We’re not rushed. But we are can’t totally forget that its already a late evening. And, of course, it’s snowing (again). This never-ending winter just won’t quite go away.
I actually left work “early” for me for a Friday. Which means that I didn’t leave as late as I have been going home recently. And, I won’t be doing any work this weekend like I have been. So, this weekend will be as relaxing as a cold, gray February weekend can be. Long days as work are more “tolerable” during the winter when I’m stuck inside. But I still hope that things slow down. Have a great weekend.
The wind has been howling outside all evening. Definitely not a time to be outdoors. Its not as cold as it has been recently. But rain and high winds make it just as miserable. It’s just perception; but summer seems … Continue reading
Amazingly, our basement did not flood despite our home being without power to run the sump pump for several hours while the ground was saturated with water due to melting snow and heavy rain fall. We were very lucky. The sump pump cycled on and off for a long time after the power came back on. It never used to run even in the spring. Now, with the rising water table over the last few years, we will probably be purchasing a battery backup in the very near future.
Have a great weekend!
When it finally stops raining tomorrow, the temperature will drop and we will return to “normal” winter weather. Fortunately, it won’t be super cold. And, thankfully, our vehicles seemed to have survived the cold without any major problems (except for … Continue reading
The wife drying her hair and then sitting on the bed (with a tube of flavored lubricant) is always a welcome site. Especially after a long day. I’ve had a lot of long days recently. I know that is the … Continue reading
The extremely cold weather that accompanied the polar vortex is finally over. We got a bunch of stow dumped upon us overnight. But even though the roads were terrible and schools and businesses were closed, it didn’t seem so bad since the forecast for this weekend will actually be warm enough to melt a lot of the snow. So I’m really going to enjoy any day that isn’t freezing cold and/or snowing. Have a great weekend. And best of luck to whichever team you are rooting for on Sunday.
The frigid winter weather is continuing. But at least there is an end in sight. We won’t be rowing or doing the warm weather activities that we enjoy. But, we’ll be able to put away our heavy winter coats for … Continue reading
