We’re slowly adjusting to the time change; but, the lack of light when we get off from work makes it harder. It just seems later (and mildly depressing) when it’s too dark to do much of anything outside in the … Continue reading
It’s good to be back to our normal schedule. Hopefully we won’t have any more problems. We always think of all of our equipment as newer. However, everything is reaching the point where replacement is starting to be something for … Continue reading
Update: Our heat is “working” which means that the house is normal winter temperature but nothing was really fixed. Every suspect part tested OK when the service man was here so there was nothing to repair or replace. Apparently, the … Continue reading
I turned on the fireplace for the first time of the season yesterday. It was nice to have a warm, cheery fire going. The first time we use is also a bit depressing, however. It’s not “cold” yet. But, it’s a lot colder than it has been. We know that summer is gone and won’t be back until next year. We are still hoping for a warm fall, which, so far, does not appear to be likely. And, sadly, it’s not much fun when it’s too cold to go out and play.

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th. I’m only mildly superstitions; but, I still like to be careful on unlucky days. Intellectually, I know there is no such thing and any bad luck is coincidence. But, I would rather avoid any coincidences. … Continue reading
Now that it is finally working, our upgraded internet service does make it easier to upload video to this blog. And perhaps we can do a few things online that we didn’t have the speed to do before. We won’t be able to use the cloud like people on the coasts. But it should make the things we can do more efficient.
P.S. Still no sound.
For a variety of reasons, I’ve decide to take a hiatus from boxing. It’s been a good way for me to stay fit over the years. I’m going to need to find another activity besides normal gym stuff. Rowing is … Continue reading
I installed a new version of WordPress, the software that runs this blog, today. Security updates are good. But new version needs a lot more testing before being releases so that sites don’t require constant updates. Sadly, there are few if any good alternatives, especially ones that are truly in the spirit of FOSS.
