We are finally on our much-anticipated summer vacation! Depending on the weather which is forecast to be
warm hot we will likely not be online very much. Hopefully we’ll be outside enjoying the summer. We would like to wish you a safe and happy Independence Day holiday in advance. And have a great weekend too.
Today was a warm sunny day that seemed almost like summer. We haven’t had as many of them as we would like; but we really enjoy long sunny summer days. Especially the late sunsets that let us do more things in the evening. Our smart thermostat says that we barely used the air conditioner in May. We’re not anxious to spend “extra” money. But, we are really longing for pool weather. Right now, our swimming pool is basically an expensive decoration in the back yard.
Glad to turn the page to June. May was an much wetter and slightly colder month than usual. It rained earlier this week too. But we are still hoping for a normal month weather-wise. More rain is expected tomorrow and Sunday. But we still have high hopes for party dry weather. Have a great weekend.
Unsurprisingly, it rained HARD last night. So, our weekend plans are cancelled which seems to be the story of the spring whenever we plan to do anything requiring several consecutive days of good weather. If it doesn’t rain any more, it should dry out enough to cut the grass and do the homeowner thing. So, at least we can be productive (and slightly frustrated). Have a great weekend!
Like everyone else, we’ve got a long list of dream items to buy. But, with all of the rain we’ve been having recently, I would really would like to have a robotic lawnmower. Then, I wouldn’t be wasting dry Saturday or Sunday afternoons cutting the grass. Obviously, it’s not a necessity. But it would certainly add some extra hours to my weekend. These days, one of my biggest yard work tasks is cleaning wet grass out of the lawn mower.
I installed the replacement part for the furnace that I was waiting on earlier today shortly after it was delivered. It appears to have fixed the problem. Now we are as warm as we want to be. Its good to have heat. Even if were don’t need it too much. But, sometimes, it seems as if I spend far too much of my time doing the homeowner thing.
Were back online! All is well except for a bit more cleanup from the network connectivity issue while we were on hiatus. Its rare for us to take a week off; but sometimes, real life makes it necessary. Our camera stopped working (again) during our photo session. So, we have a limited selection of pictures. Very annoying when that happens. We’ll probably reach into the way-back machine and post “old” from the week we were offline. We still have a few things to catch up on. But, in the meantime, it’s good to publish a new post.
It looks like we can get out and row both days this coming weekend. Its won’t be “warm”; but just being able to be outside two days in a row makes it seem more like spring. We have had do few good weekends this winter and strong that even an “OK” one weather-wise seems great. But, we are still hoping for a long, hot summer full of days with burning sunshine. Have a great weekend.
The Wife and I have matching wristwatches. So, we both wear our fitness trackers on our dominant hand which is a bit of an adjustment. We got our watches as an anniversary gift to ourselves, so we’ll continue to wear them even though they’re really just jewelry and our phones keep much better time. Our style is definitely an unusual blend of old and new. Have a great weekend!
Unsurprisingly, there was an upgrade notice for a new version of WordPress greeting me on the dashboard when I logged in. Their release cadence is crazy. Once every 2 or 3 months would be fine. Not the other way around like it has bene recently. Especially since updates often seem to break something. An unavoidable nuisance task I’ll be doing tomorrow or Sunday. Have a great weekend.
