Friday Featurette #317

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherI upgraded WordPress the software which runs this blog earlier this week. According to the documentation, it was a “major” version update; but, so far, I haven’t discovered any new features. Still I’m sure that there will quick succession of “minor” releases to fix whatever is broken. Hopefully this site will not be affected by any of the inevitable bugs. Have a great weekend.

The Husband and The Wife hhanging positionsThere were a lot of walkers at the Turkey run we did this past week. I don’t understand why they don’t start toward the back as instructed in the race information. Instead, they start at the front and slow all the runners down. The race was crowded so it took us over a mile to pass them all. If I was walking, I wouldn’t want to have runner after runner streaming by me for such a long time. Especially if I was trying to walk with someone.

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherOne day earlier this week, I stopped by the optometrist and had my glasses adjusted. It’s amazing how much better I see when the lenses are property aligned. Progressive lenses are great, unfortunately; they aren’t the best for my lifestyle. Particularly since being extra careful with frames doesn’t blend well with being active.

Anyway, have a great weekend.

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherThe new refrigerator got delivered today. It cooled down MUCH faster than the old one, even compared to when the old one was working. We’re just waiting for it to make the first bucket of ice (which we’re supposed to throw away) before it is fully functional. The new one is a lot nicer than the old one. We just hope we will not be unexpectedly buying anything new for a while. It is definitely not fun having to purchase an emergency replacement.

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherWe have a busy weekend planned since we can never get enough warm summer days. Sometimes, I think we are too busy. Then I remember what it’s like to be stuck inside during the long, cold, snowy winter. These days can be hectic. But, later, when we look back, we wouldn’t trade them for any thing.

Have a great weekend. We will see you on the other side.

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherHere is a picture of the two of us just hanging out after a photo session. I’m not in as many photographs as The Wife so I though it would be nice for both of us to be in a candid picture. The summer solstice is fast approaching and we are really enjoying the long evenings. Days like today don’t come around too often.

Tuesday Two For #285

The Wife getting The Husband ready for actionThe Wife is still slightly sick (as am I) but every day we get better. Having a spring cold isn’t any fun. Especially with the winter weather we have been having. It certainly doesn’t seem like the second week of April temperature-wise. We’re hopeful that spring weather will arrive soon. Our normal spring/summer schedule seems almost like a dream.

Tuesday Two For #273

The Husband and The Wife getting warmed upI really like the fact that the gym I now work out at during lunch hour is within easy walking distance. The downside to working downtown is that parking isn’t convenient for lunchtime errands. I would actually do more waking if I walked to the garage where I park usually park my car, drove to the nearest parking in vicinity of the gym, and walked inside than if I just walked directly there. I don’t mind walking. That’s one of the things I like about working downtown. I prefer to walk. Except when its freeing cold outside. Then I find myself longing for summer even more than I already am.

The Husband and The Wife enjoying a moment togetherOur vacation was great. But, like always, it came with a cost. I am still working even though it’s late Friday evening. And I have work to do tomorrow. Plus, it snowing so I’ll have to shovel the driveway too. I’m hoping that I can get everything done and relax on Sunday. Especially since I Monday is not a holiday for me. Have a great weekend. We hope that yours is a three-day one.
