Wednesday Weirdness #373

Recently, since we have exercise equipment at home, I have been working out before work in the morning which is something that I have rarely done. Amazingly, my works have been good. Unlike the times when I’ve gone to the gym. Usually, I’m surprised at what others are doing. Today, it’s what I’m doing myself.

Monday Monologue #342

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • It took most all of the weekend; but out computer is finally back to normal. Faulty software is very annoying. Especially when the system keeps crashing so you can’t uninstall it.
  • I had an excellent Father’s Day! I spent time with my kids. And then later I visited my Dad. Definitely one of those days that doesn’t come around too often.
  • I was able to cut the grass today before it started raining. Unfortunately, we have a lot more free time that we would like since it’s too wet outside for our usual activities.
  • I haven’t washed my car in weeks since its always either raining or about to rain (and the car wash is closed). Weather-wise this has not been a normal spring.

Monday Monologue #340

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • We are back and had a good time away in the sun. We keep hoping for sunny days around here; but the unseasonal rain goes on and on and on.
  • A recent update made some unexpected changes to Office. All of the icons are different and some things are moved around. It’s almost like a totally new version which is a bit disconcerting since you generally expect updates to not be as obtrusive.
  • I don’t know how long or how well I will be able to do it; but I trying not to complain. When things are good, they are really good. And when things are “bad” there are people wo would love to trade places with us.
  • We still have a lot of room for improvement; but our rowing is a lot better than when we first started or even compared to a few years ago. We are not “fast”; but we’re not slow anymore either.

Tuesday Two For #339

The Wife preparing to mount The Husband's dick cowgirl styleAnother turn with the sun for The Wife and I. Where have the years gone? I guess that’s how it always is. When things are going poorly, the days drag on forever. And when things are going good, time flies by. So, it’s good that time keeps zooming by for us.

Monday Monologue #300

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • Today is our 300th Monday Monolog post which means that its almost our 6th year. Hard to believe that it’s been that long.
  • Our refrigerator compartment won’t keep things cold even though the freezer compartment is working. Something tells me that a new refrigerator is in our future. Bad luck for two major appliances to need replacing in the same year.
  • The new air conditioner is a lot more efficient that the one that died. We saved a noticeable amount on our last electric bill even though July was warmer than June.
  • It rained enough last week so that I finally had to cut the grass. This week has also been cool and wet so the grass is finally starting to recover.

Monday Monologue #280

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • I had a productive weekend workwise. It’s good that I got everything accomplished that I need to. Bu, its bad that my weekend wasn’t really my own. Hopefully the only thing I will need to do over the weekend in the near future is relax.
  • I ate too many Girl Scout cooks since they got delivered this past week. There is no such thing as too many cookies. But it does make for longer workouts to burn the extra calories.
  • The Wife had the head on her diamond ring replaced since the prongs were worn down after many years of regular use. Hopefully, the new setting will last for another 30 years.
  • I still can’t believe that it’s been over 32 years since I purchased her diamond. It doesn’t seem nearly that long ago. Where did the time go? I remember the days when we were first getting to know each other like they happened yesterday.

Monday Monologue #263

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • On Saturday, it appeared that my grass would be shorter than that of my next-door neighbor who is obsessed with cutting his grass. But, he came outside an hour before sundown and mowed and edged. We enjoy our space; but, sometimes, I wish I could cut my lawn that quickly.
  • With the weather turning colder, I placed an order for cold weather workout gear. It will be nice to have; but I was waiting as long as possible. Psychologically, it’s kind of like closing the pool.
  • Switching to a more flexible workout schedule is both good and bad. Its good because I can get outside when the weather is better rather than at a pre-determined time. Its bad because its much easier to let myself get stuck at work.
  • I just had another birthday. The older I get, the faster the years go by. It was a good day. I just wish it didn’t seem like my last one wasn’t that long ago.

Monday Monologue #262

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • It’s taken over a year; but I’m actually almost comfortable transporting our boat on the roof of our car. I still don’t drive as fast as I normally do which is probably wise.
  • We visited the temporary dog and her owner. It was a bit weird being the guest rather than the host. But everyone, dogs and humans were glad to see us.
  • It rained so I didn’t cut my grass over the weekend. It’s going to be kind of shaggy before I get to it this coming weekend.
  • I didn’t realize it was Columbus Day until I was already in my car preparing to run errands. Unfortunately, it’s just a regularly day for us.

Monday Monologue #253

An interior monologue from me (and sometimes the wife).

  • My Saturday was even busier than I expected. It was all good. But I’m still hoping for a quiet relaxing Saturday sometime in the next few weeks.
  • We’ve been washing our boat more frequently than in the past and we can definitely tell the difference. We’re getting a lot fewer hard water spots than we used to. We will certainly look good at our next regatta.
  • We row it a lot; and definitely are getting our money’s worth; but, it still seems wield that we have our own boat. It’s nothing we would have ever even considered when we first started. Now it’s our preferred row.
  • July has been a lot more rainy than normal, so I’ve had to cut the grass a lot more than normal. In a summer with ordinary rainfall, I would not have needed to cut the grass nearly as much as I have been.

Wednesday Weirdness #239

Up until the past couple of years we always opened our pool around Tax Day so we had a week with one good thing and one bad thing. It was (almost) hot today so we’re thinking about going back to that schedule. If we can row in February then we certainly can swim in April. Especially since we have a heater. We would rather have a cold snowy day with an open pool than a warm sunshiny day with the winter cover still on it.
