I had to update our anti-virus software today. The manufacturer has switched from a product key that expires based upon the date when the product was activated to a subscription key that expires based upon when it was purchased. So, … Continue reading
Re-enabling sound on the camera has not been helpful. It’s either loud enough to be annoying. Or, so quiet that we don’t notice that it has stopped. It still kinda works. But only in the most basic sense. It certainly can’t be relied upon to take unattended pictures which, unfortunately, is the only thing we use it for.
For the second week in a row, our camera died and we have a very limited selection of photographs. It’s become more than a minor annoyance. There are more important things to buy on the to-do list, so we may need to compromise on features and capabilities just to have something that works reliably. Our current unit is old, especially for an electronic device. Anything new would likely be better.
Despite the problems we’re having with photographs, videos still work OK. Luckily, we happened to make a movie this week. Hopefully it will not take to long to fix the presentation of photos. For now, enjoy the movie.
Our pool is closed for the season. It’s been cold for a while, so, we weren’t going to swim anymore. But, it’s still kinda depressing to look in the back yard and see the pool with the winter cover on. We are hoping for a short, unseasonably warm winter to make up for the unseasonably long, cold one we had last year.
I changed the sounds the camera makes when it takes a picture in time lapse mode so it wouldn’t be so obtrusive. But, now it sounds like a video game which is an interesting background sound to our activities. It’s good to be able to tell that its working; but it doesn’t suit the mood. I’m probably going to turn it off. Especially since I’m not sure I would stop and restart it anyway.
I recently discovered a few typographical errors in the tags used for posts that resulted in a several posts being miscategorized. And, amazingly, despite all the new “features” that have been added to WordPress, there is still no easy way … Continue reading
I made a purchase online in Euros recently. I was amazed how easy the transaction was. Technology has really come a long way. I even received a slightly more reasonable exchange rate than I was expecting. The world is much more connected than it used to be. And, we’ve got our own little digital home on the web to add to the variety.
Anyway, have a great weekend.
Our pool pump recently died. We had to have it fixed even though it’s doubtful we’ll be able to use it before we have it closed for the winter in a few weeks. Unlike many people, we don’t have a timer and always leave the pump running. Or water is usually crystal clear. But, the equipment does wear out faster. Its good to have nice things. But, there is also more opportunity for things to break down.
