I finally got around to ordering the update for the navigation system in our SUV. It’s a good thing to do prior to the start of a busy summer travel season. But you really need to already be in the midst of a road trip; since the update takes about an hour and the vehicle has to be running the entire time. I realize that its only something that needs to be done once a year. Still, you would have thought there would be an easier way.
For the first time all year, we’ve actually rowed on our regular schedule three days in a row. That should not be noteworthy; but it is for a year like the current one. It hasn’t always been sunny. But it hasn’t been raining all the time either. Hopefully warm, sunny weather is right around the corner. We are really looking forward to it whenever it finally arrives.
We have a busy weekend planned outside despite the predicted rains. We are just hoping that it doesn’t rain too much. Like any other outdoor activity, we can still do things in the rain. Just not in a thunderstorm. It’s just not ideal. So, we are hoping for as warm and dry of a weekend as possible. Wish us luck. And have a good weekend.
You can still see the remnants of our tan from our time in the sun two weeks ago. It certainly isn’t from around here. Its mostly been cloudy and rainy. And, even though its almost May, we’ve almost never had … Continue reading
After what seemed like ages; but was actually only a week, the river and nearby bike paths were finally clear and we able to return to our regular outside activities. Rainy Aprils are not unusual, especially for around here. It’s just a bit frustrating after spending time in a warmer and sunnier location where heavy rain is only a problem when it’s actually raining.
I am not sure how well the picture shows it; but I got sunburn on the top of my head while we were on our spring break trip last week. Having peeling skin on your head is annoying. But I would rather be “recovering” from too much sun versus siting inside waiting for warmer weather. Of course, the best thing is to get enough sun so that neither is likely. Hopefully we will soon have plenty of warm, sunny days around here.
My next-door neighbor has already cut his grass TWICE this week. Meanwhile, I still haven’t started mowing yet. Our yard is getting to the point where it needs cutting; but, it’s only recently started to turn green. I’m sure I’ll start cutting the grass in early April someday. Just not this year. It’s not long. Only slightly unkempt. Once I cut it, it will be the same length as the neighbors.
I left work (almost) on time today and The Wife and I had a relaxing Friday afternoon row. Going home on time shouldn’t be a notable event; but, unfortunately, it has been recently. Hopefully leaving work at a reasonable time is a trend that will continue. Tomorrow is may be the warmest day of the year so far and we are looking forward to it. Have a great weekend.
In one of those strange occurrences that seems to happen to me more often than it should, I got an unusually large number of emails at both home and work, many of which were important. So, what was already a long day become even longer. And, I’m catching a cold. I’m going to bed. I hope I’ll feel better in the morning and that tomorrow will be a “regular” day.
